I have read to attach ribbon to a cake that you can iron wax paper to it as a backing, well it didn't work for me...

So what I did try was cutting a strip of glad press&seal and rubbing it on that back of the ribbon and hey it worked!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if I did the wax paper thing wrong, but just thought I'd let you's know of my new idea(if it's is new or I am just slow..LOL)

Glad to share/hope it helps others !

Brilliant! I am a Press N Seal addict and I wouldn't have thought of your idea. I just wish they would use an adhesive that doesn't leave a sticky residue on bowls, etc.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I came here tonight intending to ask this question, but you answered it. I have a wedding cake to do for the 24th (my 1st) and the bride wants the ribbon on each layer. You saved me alot of worrying and trial & error ideas.

That seems so much easier than the wax paper thing. Thank you so much for Sharing.

Timmie's, or Tim Horton's, is a coffee/donut shop. There's one on just about every corner in my city. They are quite popular in Canada.

Great tip, I'm also a press and seal junkie. So, ok, stupid question, but then what? How do you actually attach the ribbon to the cake? I've never done this before.

Yes I cut a piece of press and seal the size of the ribbon and attached it as backing on the ribbon.....Just give it a good rubbing on and it sticks..then stick it to the cake!....The same concept as others on CC have used waxed paper.
(sorry for my lame instructions)..lol

But do you have to 'glue' it to the cake with anything? And what do you do with your ends?
