that's what i'm figuring... ![]()
why do they insist they are on a budget when the reception is at a really really expensive place?

That means the cake is on a budget, but everything else is champagne and roses! If she wants a $3/serving cake, show her what she can get. That really burns my britches ![]()
Definitely no less than $5 a serving - I made that mistake when quoting a castle cake for a wedding in July - they're getting a 3 tier fondant castle with tiny gumpaste butterflies and lots of other froo-froo PLUS a Cinderella carriage, totalling 136 servings for $525 (then like a fool I asked a local shop what they would charge - $1400!!!!!), so please, don't be the idiot I was! Good luck!
Ok, I have never made a castle cake, but I plan on making one this week for my niece (unless I go into labour... been doing too much lately)
Anyhow. I did a quick search on google and here is what I found:
$10 per piece:

no pricing on this one, but I can just guess. CA Bakery

I saw a few other ones in other places just generic 2 layer cakes from Grocery stores and the prices were listed between $3.50 to $6.50. (no linking required I wont waste your time).
I wonder where the bride got the picture and I would like to see how much they charge. I bet it's not under $6.00 per piece.
Good Luck
