As I am young I can't drive so I have made a cake for my next door neighbors welcome back party and am getting payed $30. I put all my BEST work in to it and I for got to tie my shoelaces while delivering this beautiful cake next door! As you suspected I trip on their drive way even with my mom helping me... 
They said it was ok and i was determined to make something nice and quick because it was the next day so I did and they loved it!
Any advice for the future (besides tying my shoes

Can't offer any advice except as you said, tie your shoes. I think we've all had nightmare of this very thing! I dropped one the other day just moving it from one counter to the next, thank goodness I hadn't decorated it yet, it only had the BC coating on it - whew!
