Do you have any? I was using the biscuit cutter that my great grandma had--it is almost 100 years old and thought about her and the fact that it was that old and is still in perfect shape--still round! I also have pans from my grandma that are about 55 years old that I love--nothing sticks. It would be interesting to see what we all have that have been around "forever." Too bad things aren't made that well anymore!

I still have a corn decober that my grandmother gave me years and years ago (my GM been gone for 30 yrs).
My grandparents were farmers so pretty much everything was home grown. My grandfathers brother was even a dairy farmer.

I wish I had alot of her baking things as I remember as a small child standing on a chair to help her mix things up ~ we were always baking huge cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls and cookies.

Thanks birdgirl for stirring up such fond memories icon_biggrin.gif

PS ~ do you have birds?

I have some biscuit cutters, mini muffin tins and also what I just found out is actually an extruder.

It is pretty cool that things like this get passed down.

Joshsmom--we do have a couple of chickens and ducks but my body is the reason for the name. Skinny long legs and a bigger upper body. My son sometimes comments "mom is as mad as a wet hen" So there it is! icon_lol.gif

I have my Gandmother's old cookie press...the kind where the top screws on and you have to turn the press by hand. Its way better then the gun kind or battery operated ones! She also left behind old cake books and "doctored" recipes.

My dad still uses all of the old hand me downs, so I don't have any of them yet. I am waiting for that cast iron skillet!!! I do, however, have all of my husband's grandmother's cake pans, though!

my great uncle owned a bakery and when he retired he gave my mom ALL his stuff and now she has handed it all down to me. i have several rot iron pans in all kinds of shapes and sizes. a few huge cookie sheets (the kids play with their legos and blocks on the for now lol) along with a bunch of tips and other stuff he used. some of it is still over at my mom's cause i just don't have room for it all here right now but as soon as i get my storefront it will all go there, some i will use to bake and some i will for decoration.

I have and still use my grandmothers Kenwood Chef mixer. It's like a KA. It's white in colour. I have no idea how it's still going but it is, fingers crossed! Probably jinxed it now! LOL.

Cool thread~ I have my Gma's old rolling pin. I tried using it once & it was rusted inside so it stays in the kitchen drawer, I take it out to show it off to friends. I have her sifter, cookie cutters, pans, fruit bowl, & lots of other stuff. The coolest thing I have is my G'parents 50th Wedding Cake Topper! It's really old, from 1984. A year before I graduated from HS! icon_smile.gif I got all the baking stuff when she died because I'm the only cake decorator in the family of 9 kids, 35 grandkids, 40 great grands, & about 12 great greats!

I have some cake pans that were my mom's, she had saved at least one special for each of us that had been a birthday cake for that kid at some point. She gave me a few extras because she doesn't use them much anymore, my 3d bear pan for example.

My grandma only had one pan left when she passed away and my mom gave that to me, it's a dove and I'll probably never use it but it was grandma's so I'll keep it.

I also have old cookie cutters, my mom was clearing out and gave the girls a chance to go through. Most I'll never really use because they're the plastic with a solid top but it's cool to have ones from my childhood.

Although this has nothing to do with baking we have my Nana's grill cheese sandwhich maker.... makes the best in the town. Well that's what I think anyways, can't help but think of her when it gets taken out. Also I have her old recipe books. Some of the things in there I have never heard of before, like Lady and Lord Baltimore cakes. YUMMY.
