I have decided to turn a portion of my house into a commercial kitchen to do cakes. I just can't think of a good name! I want something that sounds cute and catchy, but trendy and maybe "yummy" or enticing at the same time.
Does anyone have any good ideas that they would be willing to share?
Thanks!
Katie
I suddenly remembered a Chaka Khan song called "Sweet Thang" but in your case it would be Sweet Things.
Hmmm, think about you and your cakes. What's your style? Who are your clients? What are the names of bakeries in your area? What's your favorite movie, song, or tv show that featured cakes or bakeries?
I created my name out of a love for sci-fi and reversing the words.
what about your username? "absolute cake" or "absolutely cakes" or something like that? people often have the cutest usernames and can just use that for their business name too! ![]()
Think mostly about the clients you want to attract and the types of cakes you want to do.
At first, I was wanting to use my own name, then I was stuck on names that sounded too much like other popular bakeries/cake places. Then I think I was trying to be too clever. Finally, this is what I did:
1. I brainstormed a list of words that I would use to describe my business or cakes.
2. I used a thesaurus to expand that list.
3. I picked up some favorite books- cookbooks, stories, poetry, etc- and started reading, looking for words or phrases that would capture the business I wanted.
I vote you should Absolutley go with Absolutely Cakes!
Its very catchy and memorable and thats what you want
when youre going public....best of luck!
I really like your CC name as well.
If you want it a little more trendy, I have seen so many people make their Business Name in French or other language.
So Absolument Cakes! or Cakes Absolument!
Or Gateau Absolutely!
Just keep 1 word english so you dont confuse everyone!
Just make sure you spell it correctly. ![]()
French being my first language that's often a pet peeve of mine when I see signs with extra accents just for fun!
I mean: é è or something like that!
Good Luck in your new venture!
