What is your favorite less-sugar recipe? I want to try one but not sure which recipe to try. And also, how to make it chocolate? Thanks.

I have many icing recipes. By you stating "less sugar", I'm wondering what amount of sugar to use as a reference to. Does that make sense?

I get a lot of recipes from the Whole Foods website, when I started researching organic baking. A lot of them use natural sweeteners such as applesauce and juices.
You can also check the Sweet and Low website (www.sweetnlow.com/recipes); they have a great pineapple upside down cake recipe that I've used for my husband's boss.
As for actual icing, I'm still in a quandary.

I actually use applesauce in place of the oil in my cakes icon_smile.gif It is sweetened naturally.... I have also seen the 50% less sugar mixes, but have yet to try them.

Wasn't necessarily meaning sugar-free, just less sugar so it doesn't taste like your eating sugar...less sweet. I don't have a problem with the cake itself being sweet, just the icing. Thanks for everybody's inputs so far. icon_biggrin.gif

I use the whole foods recipes too. I love Kripalu's cookbook as well.
