Hey everyone; I have an order to make a billard pool table cake and I don't have a clue on how to make the balls icon_eek.gif and what to use to make them. I've seen a couple of billard cakes on this site and I KNOW someone out there can help me out. Please!!! The deadline is coming.
Thanks so much for any suggestions. thumbs_up.gif

I would think that the mini-sportsball pan would work to make the billard balls.

I've formed balls from rice krispie treat mixture and covered them with fondant.

How big is the cake? Wouldn't the balls be a lot tinier than mini sports ball? I made a pool table cake once, and the balls were very small. I just piped them out ob bc with tip 4 and added the stripe to those which needed a stripe.

I have also used a 3D baseball chocolate mold , but it is time consuming.

Here at CC there is a recipe for cake balls. They are great and taste good also. I am sure if you make them and let them sit for awhile you could easily ice them and then cover with fondant or not.

I like the idea of the cake balls too, you can make them any size you want and then they're edible. Just dip them in white chocolate.

If the balls aren't the too big, could you roll balls out of gumpaste? I know I made grapes that way last night, but they were small.

Why not just little balls of fondant.

I used fondant for mine and a edible marker for the number. If you want more directions pm me.
