i am making a 3-d car cake for a lady either in choc or french vanilla, her colors are red and black...my questions are...she is traveling from SC to Indiana with the cake, what is the safest way to travel with this cake? Next, the cake will not be eaten for 5 days...will it still be moist? what is the best way to ensure that it will...should it be frozen after it's completed? i'm at a loss, i don't know what to tell her, i want to do this cake, she is a repeat customer, but i've never had to do one with so many questions. any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, she would have to sign a release of liability for any damage incurred in or after transit, and also for the taste, quality, or safety of the cake, due to the time frame that it will be waiting for service.

I would pass also. 5 days and traveling. Too much could happen to it. I've had customers not even make it out of the parking lot with their cakes, and they bring them back because they got ruined. If something happened to that cake, you wouldn't be able to fix it for her. Is their any fellow CCers that are in that area? Maybe you could reccommend one of them to do it for her. It would be fresh and she souldn't have to worry about traveling with it.
thanks guys...i sent her an email told her that i'm not going to do the cake. I also told her that if she lets me know where in Indiana she is going to be, that i'm sure i can find someone there to do the cake for her. I hope you guys don't mind...
, i don't know if she will do that, or opt for a wal-mart cake. i guess we'll see. thanks again for the advice.
