I Can Hardly Ever Open Cake Pictures Anymore!! Frustrated!!!

I have always had problems with viewing the pics. Not that I can't, but even before the new layout it always too forever for them to come up... and I have cable internet. :/
I started a thread just a couple weeks ago about how long it takes to get in to see a picture. I get timed out and have to start all over again and sometimes it takes a good 6 or more times before i can finally see a pic. Yes it is very frustrating. I think it was Jackie, she told me that they are planning on a new format, which has now taken place and that they will be working on 'the bugs' to try and get things speedier. I guess they need a new server or an additional server. I say we should all throw in a few dollars into the Cake Central Donations. If they collected enough money, they could buy a server and solve all of these problems but a server costs alot of money. That is why CC needs donations. SO I VOTE THAT WE ALL PITCH IN THIS MONTH TO CC DONATIONS SO CC CAN GET ANOTHER SERVER!! ALL IN AGREEANCE??????

Bugs & cake are not a good combo, well unless they are made of fondant or gumpaste

Just think of all the things CC does for us. I wouldn't be able to decorate a cake if it wasn't for CC. I have taken 4 Wilton classes and I swear I have learned more here on CC then in those 4 classes combined. I LOVE CC. What would we do without CC? Come on and donate!!! We need a new SERVER.
On the right hand side of your screen above the photo of the member spotlight there is a purple box that says would you like to donate? I just did. I think even a few dollars is great if everyone pitched in a little, we could have alot. Just think of how much money we haved saved by being members here and not having to buy every how to book because everyone here helps each other......

Yes, I too am having trouble uploading my photos. It says I've done it but they are not there. They suck anyway, so no hard feelings my way

ok gang, i know it's frustrating, but i'm sure most of you are aware that anytime a system is being worked on, revamped, upgraded or having maintenance of any kind done at all, that it tends to run a bit slower during the process.
I believe CC is working hard to provide some upgraded services and we need to sit back and give them the time they need to get the job done.
Sheesh, can't I just express my frustration without everyone "reading" something into my post that I did not even say? I just felt the need to vent a little and was curious to know if anyone else was experiencing the same probem. I never said CC was not trying or that CC is not a great resource site!
I share your frustration. That doesn't mean you're a CC basher. Hopefully it will be worked out soon.

What on earth is wrong with that? She was very friendly and 100% right 
patton that was not a negative statement against you. It was simply a reminder that the site was being worked on and that can cause a slowdown. I've known people who didn't know that upgrading and maintenance could cause a slowdown. I'm sorry you took it personally.
I don't mind slow as much as I mind "page cannot be displayed" after waiting five minutes. 
I think the new format looks cool but its soooo tantalizing, I see some way cool cake in the "most popular" and I'm like "ooh ooh I wanna see that" and then I can't. 
Sometimes I can't even load my own photos to view comments either.
I do think they should require photos to be smaller 2 MB is still a HUGE pic), and also I have noticed people who upload like six different views of the same cake.... or six different steps of making their cake, or six different closeups of the parts to their cake, etc. I think if everyone would chill out on the uploading and just upload one final pic per cake (I think I have one double in my photos but the rest are just one shot) and try to reduce the size (which I need to work on myself) that it would help. I think it would also be good if we went into our albums and cleaned out some of the multiples if possible. It may be a free site but there could be some stricter rules as to uploading in order to conserve space.
Just some thoughts.
