Is It Ok To Use Others Members Ideas For Cakes?

I think it would be okay. It's pretty common to find inspiration in the work of others. It may have even been an idea they borrowed from someone else. If you post a pic of the cake, you might mention whose work inspired you. You know what they say...Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If it would ease your mind though, it wouldn't hurt to ask first. Maybe they will even share some pointers.
Heck ya it's ok to use someone elses idea!! Go for it! I think every cake I've made is inspired by another cake I've seen. Happy Baking!!

Just so noone can use your pic as their own you should put your name in every pic you post. Cali4dawn has a tutorial on how to do that. Just go to her profile & click on her website. You'll find it. So to all of you who are new to CC... WELCOME!!!! I'd advise you to put your name on your pics~
thats is what I love about this site you can get ideas and change it a little and have somthing wonderful
LOL, same here..I have seen lots of things here that I want to do. And anyone who wants to use any of my idea is more than welcome! i am flattered to think someone would WANT to use my ideas! However as far as someone snagging our pics and using them for their own..I wish I would have learned to put my name on them sooner!
I agree, getting an idea from someone else's cake creation is one thing, copying and using someone else's photo as your own is another.
Hopefully someday I'll make a cake that someone would like well enough to make one like it. No two cakes are going to be exactly alike anyway. Janice
I've always read that it's fine if you take inspiration from someone else's work, but if you try to copy it you need to give credit to the original designer. If not you're taking credit for their design. Just a thought!
Thanks tcturtleshell! I've been wondering how on earth they put the name over the pics like they did. Not that I mind sharing ideas, because, believe me, I don't mind sharing at all. But, I feel people should give credit where credit is due. If you used someones idea, let them know how much you appreciated them for sharing it with you! You can always add your on unique decorating to their ideas too.

You can ask Jackie to remove your pics from the Gallery & then put your name on them & then re-post them in the gallery. I would go through the extra work of putting your name on them then leaving them in the gallery w/ no name. Cali showed me what could happen. She told me to send her one of my cake pics.... I did. Then she put it into paint, cropped it & added her name to my pic! Then sent it back to me just to show me it can be done~ So better safe then sorry right~ 
Anyone can use any of my pics & they do not have to give me credit. I didn't make it right? You did so the credit goes to you. 
Just like someone said it would be an honor if you used one of my pics as inspirations~

Good idea there, I had thought about it but at the time didn't know how to put my name on them. LOL. By the time I had it figured out I had posted most of my cakes! I will ask her to remove the ones with no name and I'll replace them! Thanks for the idea!
