That's hilarious! It makes me think of another Miss Kitty story. She had kittens... like 5 of them... and she was so prissy, she never had enough time to lick all that long white hair like she wanted to, because she was always chasing them around the house... So one day I came home and there was this chorus of mewing and I followed it into the bathroom. She had taken all the kittens and set them in the bathtub where they couldn't get out, and she was laying on the floor in front of the tub licking herself. She was so proud of herself for thinking of it... and she looked so happy to have a few minutes of quality 'me' time!! (Yes, the tub was dry, but they were only like 4-6 weeks old, so they couldn't jump high enough to get out!)

Oooh I love kitties! I've got two of my own that have been with me through hard times, good times, being left with my mother, and still think I'm a goddess. They rock. Digit is the fluffy one, sprite is the grey and white. They are the bestest of buds.

Melvira!!!!! And a bunch of other cool CC people I "know". Talking about kitties!! This is @#$^&!!! fantastic!!! I've never once looked into the mysterious Lounge before--stuck in cakes and cookies all the time. And here you guys are discussing my other passion!!! I must have felt some kind of mental pull to check out this forum!
Anyway,LOVE cats--( in case I wasn't clear enough), (also love anything else furry, hairy, scaly or slimy) As Melvira put it " ultra sensitive to animals" and their well-being.
For the last 20 some years I've always had a house full--or tiny apartment full- of cats. Always strays-- they break my heart. Every city I've lived in I somehow let myself get drawn into the local rescue group, which then means I'll add several foster cats to my oldtimers. So, it goes without saying that spaying and neutering EVERYTHING in my path is my other passion. My license plate is SPAY-NTR !!!
Anyway, I love you guys that love the kitties!!! You all warm my heart.
I've got some really crazy pics to post, which I'll do soon.
And thanks to the nice person who started this thread! thumbs_up.gif

I found a way to get my daughter up in the morning: I gave her the job of feeding our Georgia(pastel calico). Georgia pounces on her every morning at 6am. So, now the cat leaves me alone, and my duaghter feels special that Georgia has singled her out.

Silly me!!! I just realized that you, my bud, Melvira, started this thread.
See, I always KNEW there was somthing very special about you-----other than your wicked sense of humor!!!
P.S. I have a beautiful calico right now named "Miss Kitty"!! She's a foster that came to live with me a couple of years ago-very pregnant--and had her 3 babies in my lap!!!
I'm so sorry about your Miss Kitty, Melvira. The sadness when these little guys go is so gut wrenching. Okay, I'm making myself well-up now.

Aww thanks. Seriously, they are such wonderful little girls! They each have their own self-designated special time with me...Sprite gets the mornings in the bathroom with me (such a love - she paws at me as I am getting ready!), and Digit is all over me at night, *mixing biscuits*. It's so cute. And Digit is so motherly and totally watches over my son. soooo sweet.

Well, I just had to show off my two kitties, Mikey and Stash. My old boyfriend brought these two to my apartment 14 years ago when he saw them next to their dead mama's body on the side of the road. He chased them down and brought them to me, hissing and claws bared! The female, Stash is a bit stand-offish and only comes to me when she wants lovin' on her terms but the big male, Mikey is contantly by my side. They both get really annoyed with me when I put them in their room during cake baking and decorating! icon_lol.gif They can't come out until the cakes are picked up or delivered. They will snub me for awhile after that! icon_rolleyes.gif

Mom2Seven,
Oh my gosh! I have a picture of my Zeus laying in that same position, LOL, and he's about that fat too! LOL, I'll have to search my computer and see if I can find it. That cat is adorable! And those little orange and white kitties are too precious for words! I'm so glad Melvira started this thread so that we could share our furry feline friends. Ok, I'm off to search for the pic.

icon_surprised.gif My license plate is pet friendly. Its a tennesssee tag with a cat & dog on it. The $ I pay to it goes to spaying & neutering.

I am so ultra sensitive to pets I can not be a part of that rescue group I would be psyically sick. Thank you for doing that icon_wink.gif I could not icon_cry.gif

Thanks for posting.

Ya'll will crack up at Zeus' rescue story. All of my kitties are rescues. I have two nicknames for Zeus.....Arnold Schwartzekitty, and "Convict Kitty". LOL, Convict Kitty comes from his rescue story. I adopted him from a military vet clinic. They told me that Zeus was a stray that had been caught by the military police walking down the street. No tags, un-neutered, and very friendly. The MP's placed him in the back of the police car where apparently he talked their ears off all the way to the vet clinic. LOL, that's why I adopted him...because he wouldn't stop talking to me while my son was picking out a kitten. LOL, so we adopted them both. His icey blue eyes helped his case with me too. He thinks he's a watch dog and will actually jump off the bed growling if he hears a noise at night. Yet, the dang cat is afraid of mice. They found a mouse last night and in an effort to get away the mouse decided to run straight at Zeus and do a leap frog maneuver to get over the cat. Zeus got nervous and JUMPED OUT OF THE MOUSES WAY!!!!!!!!!!! Some mouser he is.

I can't find my favorite pic of Sig, I'll keep looking for it. Here is one of him sleeping with his two sisters (who are both now bullie angels) Sig was one of 6 that we hand raised. Their mother was a stray that was hit out front of our house, we raised the 6 babies with eye droppers until they could eat on their own. We found homes for all of them but kept Sig. He does not know he is a c-a-t. He is convinced he is a bulldog.
