I am sorry if this was posted already.

I caught this show half way throught and saw pretty much the same competitors at it with the gingerbread houses.

I loved the house that won. But was very sad about the Cake Diva. She really struggled with hers and her house looked really bad. She was cyring a littlbe bit when she was taken to the back to hear comments from the judges but they were very kind to her. However, she knew she was not at her best and maybe that really bothered her.

Anyone see it?

I saw it. I too felt bad for the cake diva. She looked out of her element. As for the others WOW! I loved how they did the windows. I would not have picked the one that won for the winner. I can't remember the names of the places but the one woman where the house was sort of curved.

she was in the Birthday Cake Challenge last year in Las Vegas. She didn't win, and her cake the least admired. I think she is over rated, I know her cakes are beautiful and all that, but there are just some things about pastry that she is not really good at. But she tries hard, and i give her credit for that. icon_smile.gif

If you look at her website, her cakes for the most part are decent. She has bunches of people who work for her, that I think do most of the work, because this is her 4th challenge where she is doing the work, and every cake she does looks like an amateur did it! I hope the Food Network doesn't ask her back because it is truly painful and embarassing to watch her.

I agree. I have been through her site and seen her interview on food tv and her cakes behind her are great. I do think she is doing the bulk of the work becasue You know TFN is going to really look into who will be invited to those challanges and just becasue she owns the shop means nothing. They have to KNOW that she is as good as the rest, and her cakes look as professional ect as the rest, but I just think she doesn't do well under pressure. I agree that her cakes at each of her challanges seem sub-par...not compared to joe schmo...but compared to the people there. I just really think that she can't translate her expertise into the time frame and restrictions ect that they have. I too feel bad watching her in the challanges. We'll just have to wait and see if she keeps getting invited or keeps coming and eventually "brings it".

Well I can say from personal experience that her cakes up close and personal do not look like a professional did it. I ordered a large cake from her for an important family event and was extremely disapointed with the final product. I spent ALOT of money for a very poor end result. icon_cry.gif

That's true..I hope she will do better next time...if there is a next time for her. She seems to struggle so much in every challenge that she was in.

But then again, her wedding cakes are fine. We'll see.. icon_smile.gif

Wow, I'm surprised to see this many negative comments about the "Cake Diva." I'm always disappointed to see her in a challenge because it's all talk but no results. Her stuff always fails to impress me, and like someone else said so well, it's painful and awkward to watch her. Hope FN doesn't bring her back.
