Found this whilst cruising for cake ideas... don't think I'll be tackling something this big too soon though!

I feel the anxiety attack coming on just thinking about it!!!
I bet if all of us at CC got together we would whip that cake out in no time at all. LOL On my own, now thats a different story! LOL
Where did they store all the cakes before final assembly?
I believe the roses make up the pink border around the base of the cakes. Pretty darned impressive project I'd say. And very attractive from a distance. I don't care for the lillies but it's an awesomely huge cake. I'd get tired cutting and plating though..................
All I can think of is "Dig-In"!!! Or should I say "Dive-In"???? ![]()
Like I already said, impressive in size and attractive at a distance. I don't imagine transporting this was a problem since I'm sure it was moved in pieces and assembled on site. It IS after all just sheet cakes with pillars between. How hard is that? It probably has threads in the pillars to secure them together so it can's topple over easily. It looks like they used pipe. Whatever it's made of I imagine it's custom made for this cake. It's not like something one would have lying around, right? And look at all the people standing around gawking! Heck, I might be too if I heard there was going to be a giant cake intown. LOL
I'm just wondering at the poor sap who gets to eat one of the pieces off of the bottom tier where their shoes are. I honestly don't want to take away from the enormity of this thing because it still must have been difficult, but my first response was "ew".
