Heehee, do you mean like the "One Stroke Method of Painting"? Haha, I wish there was a way to do a cake that way, wow! Then we could put out the 2 minute cakes and make a fortune, haha!

we had a class at our local Michael's store called....One Stroke Painting on Cake! The teacher taught you how to do one stroke painting on fondant w/the wilton brush on colors. I had signed up for the class....but my son and I ended up w/pink eye that week...so I wasn't able to go! icon_cry.gificon_sad.gif

But the demo she had in the store was pretty awesome!!

Hello
Yes, the Folk Art One Stroke Method of painting would be great for cake decorating. The GREAT NEWS is they are working on it! I work for Michaels and our One Stroke instructor told me that the company is testing it right now in Washington state I think she said. Thet have a instructor there trying it all out. The "paint" will be made out of all edible ingreidents. Can't wait until they make it available to the public. If I find anymore information out I will let you all know

It already has been developed... Laure'l Silverberg develped a way to do it with AmeriColor colors. She teaches all over the country. I believe she worked with Donna Dewberry when she was developing the technique. She does some beautiful work.

Oh well now another light bulb has been light inside of me. Thanks for the new avenue to explore! I am so glad I asked, since I have Donna's books but never thought of putting it there. If you look at my photos one of my first cakes was a Yosemite. Chocolate border but I used luster dust to paint a picture of Yosemite on it. It looked cool, but photographed badly... time to do another one.

I would love to learn how too. I bought one of her beginner kits at Walmart and I got frustrated with it and threw it under the bed. I think I will go dig it out. LOL icon_lol.gif

so funny..........I thought about doing this like a year ago...and just recently thought....I should really try that.............then while I begin to test theories about what to use as "paint" I discover all these websites where they actually do it LOL OH well, it's still beautiful.........even the one stroke painting lady herself has it on her website http://www.onestroke.biz/ check it out......she even offers a "cookie painting kit" and guess what SHE uses??? Americolor of course!!!!

Heehee, well I thought she was joking, meaning 1 stoke of icing and the cake is done. I didn't realize she was referring to the painting method. I have done a few "One Stroke Cakes" myself, it felt like I was going to have one stroke by the time I was done! icon_cry.gif
