...its not really a buttercream....its whipped, like a sweeter whipped cream icing....I paid around 15 bucks for a gallon carton of it at Cash'n'Carry...dunno how many cake sit will cover but I havent used very much and have done 2 cakes, torted and iced with it. It pipes great frozed too....it doesn't freeze to a solid. thumbs_up.gif
I plan to keep buying it...most people prefer a not-so-sweet icing, which is exactly what this stuff is.

At the stores I have worked at we always underwhip ped our bettercream so that it was smooth and silky to ice the cake and then if we needed to add color it wouldn't be overwhipped, then it gets hard and lumpy from the extra mixing of adding the color

yes, sams has butttercream icing and bettercream icing that you can buy. they can deff. order it if its not on hand. i worked for sams about 6 months but quit. they wouldnt allow creativity there. you had to do everything by the book. even down to colors on cakes......this decorator was use to doing what she wants when she decorates, so i left...but i still go there and shop. i buy alot of bakery items from them.

my friend in n.j. buys the buskets all the time of buttercream.

I'm so glad you stated where it was.....I looked for it at my local GFS some months ago and couldn't find it....no one was available to help me either, so I'm going to take another look! I just had a customer ask if I offered a "whipped cream" like buttercream! Sounds like this will be the way to go for me!

Glad I could help, cambo. It looks just like a quart carton of milk and it sounds like it's not even frozen. Good Luck!!!

I'm glad to hear this one. I'm still making my own buttercream, and it's really good. But making icing is my least favorite thing to do. It takes so long and is so messy! And I feel like a clogged artery after dealing with all that crisco icon_confused.gif Now most of my clients want the almond buttercream, but I suppose I could just mix some almond into it and it would be so much easier and less time consuming than making my own. Would that taste just as good?

sarahnichole,

Just to clarify - What I'm talking about is Rich's Bettercream. It's kind of like the whipped frosting or icing that you can get at WalMart, Kroger, etc. It's not buttercream. However, apparently there is a buttercream that you can get at Sam's Club. I've never tried that one but several on here have.

Correction - It's actually Rich's Bettercreme. Just in case you're looking for it at GFS, etc. I just wanted to make sure you knew what the actual name of the product is. Sorry, I goofed! icon_rolleyes.gif
