hello! i just discovered this site yesterday and i spent 9 hrs reading the forum...very informative and really made me want to bake a cake the minute i turned off my computer but it's already 1am here. 
anyhow...i also just bought my first kitchen aid mixer today...yay!!! i'm so excited to bake a cake 
i already took a basic cake decorating class and this is what i made.

When I first found this site I did the same thing. I spent all day and most of the night on it. Kept saying "just one more topic...just one more...oh wait this one will be the last one". My DH finally gave up on me and now he just knows "Mom's on CC again.....we might see her tomorrow" LOL
