Today I heard the most heartbreaking news anyone can receive. My brother, who is the true artist in the family, has passed away at 46. Unfortunately, I cannot go see him and be with family. I was born and raised in the Philippines and have been living in the States for 3 years. At times like this, you just wish you could ride a plane and be with them.
He had so much influence on who I am today. In memory of this beautiful man, I made this Easter cake with him and my mom in mind. I had so many good memories of him while I worked on this cake. I was crying and singing along with some songs he introduced me to. I only hope he could see what I have created for him.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My 43 year old sister died last month. She was mentally retarded and she was my hero, accomplishing a lot of things in her lifetime. She taught us all a lot.
Your cake gives me the impression that you had 'spiritual help' in it's creation. Your brother would be very proud of it .... and you.

Thats a beautiful tribute to your brother I too lost my youngest brother in Dec 1998 to Lymphomia cancer and I understand your pain and even though he has been gone 9 years I still miss him very much . My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family and I pray you will find the peace you need to carry on.
