Hi All,
Just wanted to share. After working so hard on two cakes last Friday, which was technically 4 cakes, ending up with a migraine and matching back and leg pain... ouch! They have both been hits!!!
I guess I'm very daring since I've only been decorating for 3 months. One cake was a whimsical cake with a NY Yankees cap on top. The other one was two purse cakes for twins. All of them are first tries
and I'm surprised I was able to pull it off.
All that hard work, especially the cleanup
, is worth it when you hear praises about your cakes. I'm sure you all understand.
Here are the pics of the cakes.
Thanks for listening ![]()

Can't wait to see what you are up to next but do try to take it a bit easier on the old body! ![]()

I will take your advise.
Oh wow, love your cakes!! Congratulations!
Please, do share how you did the baseball cap, I´m a BIG fan! Thanks so much and again, your cakes are beautiful!!!
Actually, I had a lot of help from MsSugarBaker. She helped me make this. It was done a 6 inch round with a half ball round on top. The bill was done using a cardboard covered in 50/50 fondant and gumpaste. I had problems with the batch of MMF that I did. For some reason, MMF and Americolor does not work well together. I already made the batch and I didn't want to throw it out so I thought it could work by making a 50/50 MMF and Wilton fondant. A little risky, I know but it worked!!! Beautifully, to my astonishment! I got the best of both worlds. MMFs flavor and Wilton's texture
HTH
Awesome job! No wonder you received such high praise. You should have for that level of work and accomplishment!
I look forward to seeing more of your work in the near future as I'm sure you'll be getting plenty of business from those who saw your beautiful creations in person.
OMG!!! and you said you been decorating for only 3 months? I can imagine how your cakes are going to look in a few months! Congratulations you did an excellent job!

Yes, only 3 months and I still have to go through Course 3 this April. I'm so excited and looking forward to this. I'm still not sure what my next step is after Course 3. Maybe I'll buy Colette's book and learn her ways ![]()
