I used half of a ball pan sitting on top of a 6-inch round cake. Iced with buttercream and wrapped with fondant. Used Wilton's cutter/emboser to recreate the stitches. Cut out the holes/rings on the cap using tip 12 and tip 7.

The bill was made in advance using a cardboard template and a 50/50 gumpaste/fondant. One tip though when using MMF and Americolor, it will break down your MMF bad especially with dark colors. It made mine really soft and it tears easily. I have made several batches of MMF without problems so this was new to me. So instead of throwing that batch away, I mixed it with Wilton fondant and it came out great! IT got the flavor of MMF and the texture of Wilton!!

The logo was made with just Wilton white fondant. I surfed the net, downloaded the logo, resized for my cake, rolled the fondant on wax paper, and cut the logo in mirror image. Why mirror? Because when I put it on the cap, I can hold the wax paper and position the logo exactly where I want it. When I get the right position, I just peel off the wax paper slowly. Oh I also painted a thin coat of piping gel on the logo so it would adhere to the cap.

I hope this answers everybody's questions. If you need any more help, just ask and I'll answer as best as I can.

PastryJen, yes only 3 months. It's been a very expensive yet fulfilling 3 months!!! icon_lol.gif
