I was noticing that there are bags of strawberry marshmallows in the store. Do you think they would work for MMF? It would make it pink and strawberry all at once (presumably). Thoughts?

I used some of the strawberry marshmallows for my pregnant belly cake. They worked great, but only had a slight hint of the strawberry flavor. You could always add an extract or oil to juice up the flavor.

Hmmm...I haven't seen those. I'll have to keep my eyes open for them now. I did buy the toasted coconut ones, but only for eating. (Hoping it'll keep my kids away from the regular ones so that I'll have enough when I want to make MMF). thumbs_up.gif

I'd like to know where to find them. I was thinking rice krispie treats made with strawberry marshmallows and cocoa krispies might be really good, kind of like Neopolitan taffy candy.

I've seen them at Albertson's and I think Walmart has them. I saw a flyer.

They also have packages with bunnies during Easter time. They come in different colors but then you could split them up by color.
Albertsons had Kraft 10.5 oz packs for 50 cents this week, if you buy 10 of any of the products listed, including those!

One of our area Wal-Marts had the pink strawberry ones - made pretty pink MMF with a slight strawberry flavor. I looked for more yesterday, but they have sold out and will not restock as they are considered "seasonal" merchandise icon_cry.gif .

Speaking of marshmallows, are there any brands out there sold in bags bigger than 10.5 ounces? I only ever see this size and have to use 1.5 bags to make MMF.

I always buy my Kraft marshmallows in 16 oz bags. I rarely see the 10.5 ones.

KarenOR, realizing we're in different states, what store(s)?

I posted above that I've seen the strawberry ones at Albertsons and Walmart, but I've seen the large bags at pretty much every other grocery chain.
Kroger, Safeway, etc.

In Australia I have to search around for plain white marshmallows.. If I can't get them I have to use a pack that are white/vanilla and pink/raspberry mixed. I then have to divide them up, I keep the pink one for when I need dark coloured MMF (if DH doesn't find them first) . I have also used yellow/banana flav and orange/apricot flav ones!!!

Sorry, Karen, I misunderstood and thought those were the stores where you saw the flavored marshmallows. icon_cool.gif
