I have 2. The 1st one broke in 1 day, because my kids were playing with it when I went upstairs to put laundry away. I got both of them off of ebay. for around $20. The broken one is a neva and the other one is a weighmax. They have some really nice ones on websites and on ebay, depending on how much you have to spend.

There are many inexpensive ones (less than $35) in department stores and discount stores. It helps to have one that weighs up to 5 lbs, has a tare buttom (resets to zero) and also has grams.

Try to test it before you buy it. I paid over $30 for one, and everytime I put anything heavier than 1 lb, it reset to 'error' before it measured anything. I had to add stuff slowly, one ounce at a time. Truly a pain.

My new one is cheaper, (Bi-Mart) and works great.

I have this one, and I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=13970270 I LOVE it. It sells for $49.99, but I used my 20% off coupon (I get so many of those in the mail) and saved $10. It weighs up to 11 pounds and has an auto-zero function. It measures in lbs and kg, and in 1/2-oz. increments. I can't say enough good things about it! If you decide to buy this one and don't have any of the 20% off coupons, I'd be happy to mail you one! icon_smile.gif

I've been using this little dude for about 2 years now and I LOVE it...plus, it has a cute name! The Hippo! It weighs up to 11 lbs and tares out, and switches to lbs or kgs.

I use the SALTER 1400. It's a fantastic scale that measures even very small quanties accuratly. I prefer imperial measurements, while my huband like metric...it has both. I spent about $60 and it was worth every penny!

Amazon refers to this model as the Salter Digital Nutritional Scale.
