I just got my pink kitchenaide mixer yesterday.... and i named her.... BETTY! Has any body else named thier mixer or am i just a nut!
No, you're not a nut. There has been several threads over the past week about all of us naming our "New Arrivals". I named mine "Ginger", she's cinnamon red. MrsMom named hers "Pearl", I believe(it's nickel pearl in color). LOL, there's a lot of name ideas. I bet your pink KA looks awesome! Do a search about naming new babies and you should come up with all the threads.
No I never thought of that may be when I get a Kitchen Aid I would name mine "Diesel"
I don't think your nuts at all! I haven't named my KA yet, but my kids and hubby call it "Mom's Toy". Hey if your gonna have a "Toy", I say let it be a KA!!!!!! Guess that tells you what my obssesion is huh???

I have yet to name mine, but my husband calls it the "back breaker". We have to put it away as it's too big to fit on the counter all the time wont fit between the counter and top cabinet(I need a new kitchen!).
Since I am 6 months pregnant it's now too heavy for me to maneuver hence the name.
Once our 3rd boy is named I will name my KA something girly! Maybe Blanche since it's white!

Nope your not. Mine is 13 years old and was the best gift my now ex gave me. She outlasted the marriage and is still going strong.
I call mine Mama I guess because I am always cheering her on... "come on Mama" - especially when making MMF. I don't know what I would do without her.
Matter of fact, I am going to go talk to her right now.

omg, i was just thinking about posting a thread to request help naming mine! she's black and shiny and works so hard. she needs a proper name.
we name our cars in our house. i used to have a little bright yellow hatchback that i named susie the shaggin wagon, but i had to trade her in for our van when i was pg with my twins, so we got a 2005 honda odyssey that has so many bells and whistles, we named him maximillion because he's so posh! lol
anyhoo, if ya'll are nuts, what does that make me? lol
oh, i did something even weirder. i am in photography school right now and one of my assignments was to take a photo of something in motion, so i set up my mixer, filled her with ingredients and took a picture of the paddle in motion! lol
LOL ok well Since we're all proving how crazy we are...I just got a new White KA, I had my eye on a Red one, but the hubby surprised me so I'm not complaining. So I named my white one what I was gonna name my red one...Cherry! I want to paint a set of Cherries right on the side like Alton Brown has flames on his.
Okay, so I guess I am certifiable, too. I have two KAs, my smaller one is named Bessie and my Professional is Big Bertha. I have loaned each of them out on occassion and have always been looked at rather strangly when I refer to them by their proper names. Needless to say, neither of them go for many play dates any more...

I haven't named my mixer but I do tend to name vacuum cleaners
We have a huge shop vac named "monster vac" and we have one of those little robot sweeper vacuums that go by themselves. His name is "Stan"
We ought to name our new mixer "Bubba" though. It's a 20 Qt Huge!
My 110w KA in storage in the states is named Betty too! She has a sticker of Betty Boop (like the old bomber planes) that an old boyfriend affixed.
My 220w KA here in the UK is nameless thus far...she needs something very "English", don't you think?

I don't have my KA yet, but as soon as I get the next 20% off coupon from BB&B, she will be mine! I'm getting the pink Artisan--I know, I know, everyone swears by the pro, but I've had my heart set on the pink since I first saw it! I already have her named--Candy Girl--and have been referring to her by name since I made the decision to purchase her! I've been comparison-shopping online, making my husband laugh when I make statements like, "Candy Girl is on sale at Kohl's right now, but I can still get her for less at BB&B with that 20% off coupon!"
I'm not that imaginative.......I just call mine Mr. Kitchenaid!

I guess I am a nut too, I named mine lil' momma II. My daughter gave me mine so since she's lil' momma I, I have to name my KA after her. They are both lifesavers.
