I just got off the phone with my Mother-in-law (who lives in Georgia) and apparantly, since we have been playing phone tag for the last week, she had no idea what to get me for my birthday tomorrow so she wanted to find out what I wanted.....guess what she got me!

36 years old....time to pick out my tombstone (or so I always thought when I was a kid/teenager <grin>
Worst part is - I have to listen to my husband call me a "cradle robber" for the next 6 weeks....he turns 36 on May 21st <grin>

Yep - just waiting for the crumb coat to "set" so I can add layer 2 of icing!
The best part is...this is MY cake. Whenever I make a practice cake, if my 4-year old is around, it has to have yellow icing. If I never see another bowl of yellow icing in my life, that will be fine with me!
This will also be my first attempt at a stacked/tiered cake....wish me luck (and I'll post a picture!)
oh -and the gift certificate was for $125.....yippee!

Well, Mindi, you are not alone. I will be making my own birthday cake this week too. Hubby said that I could go to the cake supply store and purchase whatever I needed to do it. Can you say "shopping spree?"...HeeHee 
Heehee, as the old brawd on the site, I can see that I will have to get you folks under some control, so I think a meeting of Shoppers Anonymous is in order and the first meeting will be sometime shortly, with mandatory attendance at a really good shopping mall, haha!

I know of a really good cake supply store . I can stay in there for hours..especially when mother in law is watching the kids...
Squirrely, Who needs a mall to go shopping?? My best (worst) shopping sprees have all been online! LOL Don't even get me started about eBay. I am so hooked! Happy Birthday Mindi! My (35th) b-day is next week, I'll have to let DH know what a great gift you got! 
I think I'll go perusing through the gallery for some ideas for my cake...
Haha, you guys are hopeless, confirmed shopaholics, haha! Heavens don't get me started about on-line and E-bay! Yikes!
