I got a new computer for Christmas I LOVE IT!! But... I'm having trouble finding the mouse controls. You have to click the mouse a lot of times to execute where you want to go & it's driving me crazy! My 16 yr old even can't find it!! I have a HP. Can anyone give me info on where to go on my puter to change the controls. I never had to change them on my old computer. I'm not a computer literate person at all! It's a wonder I even figured out how to join CC a year ago!

Is your mouse a wireless mouse? If so have you checked the batteries in it to make sure that they are charged and fresh? (Sometimes it's the little things that cause the biggest messes). K, if it's not that, did you install the mouse with the cd that came with it? It might be that too.
If that still doesn't work, go to your control panel and click on the "mouse and keyboard" thingy and run a diagnostic to see what is going on. (It should have a button just for that). If there is a problem it will guide you through how to fix it. Or it just might be that you got a dud mouse. Start with the simple stuff first, (you know that stuff that doesn't cost you anything) and then go from there.

Tina, just a word of advice, the mouse that comes with the HP is not the best. I found it a pain in the neck even after the daughter adjusted the controls so my daughter talked me into a wireless, we got a Logitech Optical and boy what a big difference. Mind you, haha, she installed it all so that made it easy for me.

We have a logitech wiresless rollerball mouse - we love it!! I would recommend the logitech too!!
Well my oldest, the compukid whiz thought that the mouse that came with the HP was horrid, I thought it was just me. She tried everything with it to make it more controllable but it just was all over the place and so sensitive. I wore out so many mouse pads with it, you wouldn't believe. The cursor was always off the screen, it was so annoying. My sister and daughter were on my computer one day and got so frustrated with it, they decided to get me a new one - a wireless. Oh and you don't have to change the batteries often either so don't let that hold you back, I love it!
