I purchased some Betty Crocker Food Writers and they were awful. I tried to write on RBC and they would not work at all. What is your favorite marker? Was my problem the RBC? Do marker works on it or do I need to do RI. I really love the RBC and would love to do some cookies using edible markers.
BarbaraK--The drawings are adorable. I love kid's artwork! Where can I purchase these markers? I did a google and nothing came up.
I first used the "food doodlers" which were not good at all and then I purchased the "gourmet writers". They have a finer point, but I don't like the look a get with the pens.
I can't find the topic on here but withen the last week someone else brought this topic up. If I remember correctly there were quite a few people that were happy with the Americolor pens (check out the store here on Cake Central)

I don't think edilble markers will work on RBC because it is too soft and doesn't really harden enough.
You usually can't write with the edible food markers on a greasy surface - I usually use the Wilton fine point ones - and I have great success with them - but get them anywhere near grease and they stop working.
Ihyes1976 - I purchased them from my local cake decorating shop here in Melbourne. They are probably not available in the US as Wilton seems to be the dominant brand there.
Has anyone come across some food coloring pens with a braod tip....kinda like the caligraphy pens? Or a brush like tip?
I use the wilton fine tip, and have no problems. I haven't tried any others, so I have nothing to compare with.
I too would like caligraphy pens for writing on cookies. I wonder...
I have Gourmet Writers. They work great, best I've tried.

I will never use anything else again but the Gourment Writers. They are fine tipped that makes details so easy plus I have never had a problem with them drying out on the first cookie. LOVE THEM!
