Wow, that's alot of cake for just one day! How about this: Box each cake on the floor first, then put long sheet of thick cardboard on top, and put the rest of boxed cakes on top. To prevent from sliding, put towels in between. Hopefully that might work for you. icon_smile.gif

Not sure if you lost track of your original post about this or if the answers didn't help. Here is a link to your original question:

I delivered 64 pies last year in a Ford Focus wagon. Back has a non-skid mat, put first layer down---covered back with pies in boxes, then roll the non-skid shelf liner on top of boxes and placed next row of boxes. Did this 3 times.

Friend also helped with her VW Bug. Laid back seat down to put the rest in.

When I delivered 23 centerpiece wedding cakes I boxed them and layered them in the back of the car. Set the first layer flat then cover with cardboard and layer the next on top. I boxed the fondant bows seperately and placed them on top at the reception site.

Good Luck!

thanks everyone for your input. i surely need all the advice i can get. i think i have a non skid mat in the back of my suv, i'll just have to get more of the non skid shelf liner. i just hope i can make the 30 minute drive with little cake damage.

i'll be glad when this one is over.

Wow! I am amazed that you could make 42 cakes. Hopefully you have several cake pans the same size! That is indeed a project!
