Can someone tell me on the silver buckets are most of those made of fondant? I am wondering the best/less difficult way to do this....I have to get it done with NO mistakes tonight!!!! HELP
I used gray fondant to cover the cakes and then cut a whole in the top for the bottles and ice, then painted it with silver dust and a little vodka.
I underestimated how long it would take the bottles, so I only had time to do one! Galler, thanks for your tips on the sugar bottles. Sweet Results THANKS A TON! iT WAS A BIG HIT!

Your cake is awesome I can see why it was a big hit. Can you tell me how you did the ice?? it looks pretty real. Congratulations!
ok my question is , if u make the ice look from jello, will it melt if touching the sugar bottles. read this from somebody who was having that problem?
question, so are these bottles solid or hollow!? I guess I am a bit lost!!!
They are hollow bottles..
so after you cut the mold and pour the sugar in, as I am reading, you only do one side of the bottle at a time?
so you will have a seam down the sides?

If you make the mold all in one piece, you won't have a seam; you fill it from the opening at the bottom of the bottle, and rotate the mold as you pour, coating all sides, but not filling the entire mold, just 1/4" perhaps.. Start from page 1 of this thread, and see how SweetResults explained it.. She did it beautifully...
Hopefully, better than I did mine... It's that last detail, when you are in a hurry, and sugar level has dropped, that you get sloppy... ok, just cut out a circle of fondant and place it on top of the bottle, and use the side of a toothpick to make indents along the edge.. paint it with silver luster dust and everclear...

My cakes are also 'free for all' so, can't help you either
when I make them (if they come out good) im sure im gonna get the question and my face is gonna say lol
ok so my bottles came out pretty good, but im having trouble making the candy ice.
I poured the sugar over foil and the broke it into pieces but it didnt look right and the foil didnt wanna come off.
is there another way to do this ??
can i pour the sugar into ice molds and make ice cubes?
do i need to grease the molds or anything??
this cake is for 2morrow , someone help me please
Kayla, Did you use regular sugar, or isomalt? I only use isomalt for the ice, but either should work ok. Make sure you are using the non stick foil that Reynolds makes. I have never tried it with the regular foil, that might be the problem.. Good luck..
I used regular sugar. I dont have isomalt but I just bought non stick foil. wish me luck
ok it was a success! everyone freaked out and no would believe it was sugar. everyone kept touching it lol.
using the no stick foil was way better, thanks laura
next time im gonna buy isomalt cuz the ice had a yellow tint to it
Congratulations kayla! Don't ya just love when a plan goes right.. Where's the pictures??

Kayla, did the non stick foil work well? I had the same problem you did with the ice and foil and ended up using a silicone cake pan That worked great! Be sure and post your pictures!
Heres my picture it looked alot better in person, the picture doesnt do it justice.

Kayla, I totally LOVE your bottles!!! the whole cake is awesome!! I'm sure your family loved it and I know exactly what you mean about pictures...often I make a cake, I think is acceptable, everyone likes it, but then I see the pictures and, ahhhhh I decide NOT to bring it to CC
That's why when I see a perfect looking cake in CC I always think---that must be a super-duper-perfect cake in person!!!!
So your cake is super-duper-perfect, believe me
