You are incredibly talented! That cake is stunning!

You should think about teaching a class, not taking one!

(I know what you mean about being great at gumpaste and not so much at piping. I can make a 1000 gumpaste roses in the time it takes me to make 3 buttercream ones and the buttercream ones aren't so...eh...rosey...)

Congratulations on such a beautiful peice of work!

I just can't seem to master those flowers, but yours are absolutely astonishing!! I only wish I lived in one of the larger areas with all the great teachers. I don't know of anyone in or near Michigan with the skills of a Nichloas Lodge or Toba Garrett. Graet Work Hun!!

If I tell you how great your flowers look, will you tell me what you used to make the thick stems on the calla lilies?

SUPER easy. Make the inner part of the calla lily on a regular 18 or 22 gauge wire. let that dry. then take 3 or 4 or 5+ (depending on thick you want to make it) pipecleaners and hold them to the wire. use the floral tape to secure them in place and wrap the stem all the way down. the pipecleaners give you the thickness without making it too hard to cut if you need to.

Thanks!

Your flowers are lovely. I especially like the orange ones. The shading on the tips really gives them life.

This is probably a dumb question, but how do you steam your flowers? Do you actually use a steam iron to do this? Thanks. Laura
