I was at a Christening reception (about 200 people) last night and another guest approached me and asked my name. Then she said "are you the one who makes those beautiful cakes?"
Yes...I was a little shocked....I mean it's not like I live in a small town or anything...
It turns out she was related to the girl I made the lighthouse cake for. Isn't that cool? She made my night!
That is fantastic! How fun it is to hear someone say your cakes are beautiful!!!
That's great--before long they'll be lining up for autographs!
That is awesome! When I used to make hand-made lye soap I'd have people come up to me at the grocery store and ask if I was 'the soap lady', so I know what a good feeling that is. 
If people in your town had access to seeing your cakes like we do here on CC, they'd pester you everywhere you went! LOL
Oh My Gosh Adven68!, I think you could be in the food network chalenges and I mean that most sincerely! Your cakes are real works of art!

Congrats! I know I fought being called the cake lady & the candy lady for years. Now I figure,what the heck...I put it on my business cards!
You DO make beautiful cakes. I look often at your photos for inspiration and motivation. You have crossed the line from being a cake decorator - to a true cake artist. You should be very proud of your skills.
