I am just sitting here wondering how many of my fellow CC'ers have a cake in the oven right now. More than that, did you do like me and wait till the last minute to do it. I was off yesterday and today and this cake is due to be delivered at 11:00am tommorrow and I am just getting started. Well, I guess I'll return to kicking my own self in the _ _ _.

Can see why you are on CC! icon_lol.gif

I do have a cake in the oven. I am testing new recipes, trying to make mine even better. Does that count?

I always seem to be in some stage of cake making/decorating, and even when I am out and about I am looking for more cake decorating stuff!

Normally that is what I do, but I had 5 cakes for this weekend and I had that feeling that something was going to happen, so I actually got things done ahead of time. Low and behold I was up with a sick child all night. Took her to the doc and she has an infection in both ears. The doc said her right ear drum is blistered and she is surprised it has not burst. I get her home and full of meds and I just got finished with the last cake a little while ago. I', going to take a big drink and call it a day.

More often than not, I am like that. But, this time, I'm on schedule! I just have the 1 and 3 year old holding me up! Ah well, another midnight run of it....sigh.

LOL, what makes me even more pitiful is that I played around last night trying to decorate my first sugar cookies with icing other than MMF, and I should have been doing this cake instead. If I can find my adapter for my camera, I'll post some pics of the cookies.

No cake in the oven tonight. But, did finish a birthday cake for a 90 year old lady complete with a smash cake. Nothing on my agenda for a couple of weeks. Then it starts to really get hectic!

Yes, sadly, I am like you. Only, instead of a cake (which I wish I was doing) I am procrastinating writing a 7 to 8 page paper due on Monday for my Govt & Business class AND studying for a major exam in Managerial Economics on Monday, which I am positive I will fail.

I wish, instead of being concerned about my GPA, I was feeling the rush of designing a cake in the nick of time.

Ugh! I should have gone to culinary school instead!! lol

Baked mine this morning before work. I just finished the second one. A race track for Robert using two 10 inch rounds and a 6 inch round for his Nana. All I have to do in the morning is set up the flags and finish line. This is a rarity for me. I am usually finishing an hour before pick up.

No cake in the oven for me tonight, but I will be working on a 3-tier golf themed cake tomorrow night and on Sunday. They want it delivered by 8:30 Monday morning and I have fondant golf accents to make. I just need a little break before jumping back into it again.

I should have been doing the golf accents today, but started playing around with a mini tiered girly cake instead. icon_redface.gif

Kate..., don't even get me started on school. I have a huge Ananatomy and Physiology Test on Monday that I should be studying for too. My GPA used to be 4.0, but not anymore. It's a 3.6 and maybe it will be even lower after this semester if I don't tighten up, lol.

Well, believe it or not, I just finished my cake for tomorrow. It is 10:00 pm here. This is rare for me. Normally the cake has just come out of the oven and is cooling at this point.

The last wedding cake I had, I started the only 2 days ahead of time. I was up until 2:00 am that night and I had to go to work the next morning. I want to be a planner, but I just doesn't work out that way! icon_redface.gif

haha! Interestingly enough, that is my GPA as well. I can attribute my lowered GPA to staying up late decorating a cake (or lollygagging on CC) instead of studying. Of this, I am sure!! haha

Good luck on your exam! icon_biggrin.gif

cake is cooling and I've realized that I HATE the taste that meringue powder gives a cake!

hopefully no one else notices a difference between the layer I baked last night and the layer tonight with the experiment!

I have a couple in the oven now but will need to bake the same again tomorrow, I'm going to make one of Debbie Brown's tree stump cakes. You know you have a problem when your 8 year old daughter comes out to the kitchen, asks what you're making and you reply 'cake', and her response is 'oh, I thought you were making something for us'!! It just happened so I'm still laughing!!
