chelleb1974, It did the same thing to me. I just kept on persisting and it finally went through. Good luck!!
Maybe too many of us are trying to buy, lol!!
Thanks! I just tried again and it worked - but the shipping is $45 for $60 worth of cake dummies....I'll have to rethink if I really need all the ones I put in the shopping cart!!
You know what, it's really not as bad as I thought - I just looked at some other sites and their prices plus lower shipping is more that dallas foam was - guess I just didn't expect it!!!

thanks for posting this! I looked at local craft stores and just told my husband the other night I would like a set. He is ordering me some now! Thanks so much! I can't wait till they come in!
I just came across this web-site for recipes.

Talk about high shipping - stay away from sugarcraft.

I've been loking for awhile for these and I just couldn't beat their prices even with their shipping.
sarah- just use a detergent like Dawn. My roller coaster cake in my photos was buttercream. Stripped off the decorations and with a spatula got as much of the BC off as possible and washed the rest off. I haven't stripped my fondant covered dummies and don't plan on it much to my DH's dismay!! I used a hot glue gun to keep my "cake" on the board but an epoxy or possibly even velcro would work as well as duct tape!!
Thanks! ![]()
Sarah
I've used dummies.....LOVE them btw!! I recently took someone's advice on here and went to the local Lowes to by the stuff to make them myself. That was about 3 months ago....DH still hasn't cut them out. I think I'll be looking into this company!!
I use press-n-seal to cover the dummies and it works great. When I first did it I had a lot of wrinkles so I cut it into pieces....one for the top, one bottom and then the sides. Came out smooth and since it was sicky I just lifted the cake up and peeled the bottom off and it all came with it! Very little mess! ![]()
PS I use RI to keep my cakes on the boards....I let it sit for an hour or so and don't have any trouble.
Epi,
I was just talking about your store yesterday on another thread.
Your store is very well stocked, very neat and clean. You have a lot more in your store than your web-site. Friendly staff. I just wished you where open longer on Saturday's
It's funny to see you here, I was thinking about taking a ride out to your store tomorrow. You are about 30 miles from me but it's worth the drive.
I noticed you changed your web-site. Maybe it's because I haven't gotten use to it but I liked the old site better. But, whoever does your site does good work.
Of course I purchase from CC first and what they don't have I buy from you
I understand that and thank you for taking the time to point out our store is clean and neat. We are in a mad rush to try to put more things on our site but the cake season upon us so we don't have much time for data input right now.
I ordered a full set of round and sqaure dummies last night. They also had sheet cake dummies. My DH was really good about ordering them. ![]()
While I was sitting at the computer looking at them, my DD asks me, "Momma, Whatcha looking at?" So I tell her that I am looking at cake dummies. She looks at me with a shocked look on her face and says, "Momma, it's not nice to call people names!!" ![]()
I just busted up laughing and had to leave the room!! ![]()

I need to go back to bed and start the day over
I was right the first time you are the store. I thought I made a mistake but I didn't.
I bet I'm confusing
Saline MI - that's the one. Highly recommended.
Lol thats ok. Get to bed and get some sleep. ![]()
www.dallas-foam.com offers dummies with holes, rounded edges and tapered sides. The rounded edges will stop the fondant from tearing on the edges and I guess the holes are to run a dowel through to hold them together(that's all I can figure) so are the tapered sides just a decorative effect or do the serve a purpose? Are there any pics to show a cake with tapered sides?
Did anyone order the pedestal seperators? I was looking at them as a possibility too...

tapered for the whimsy cake look if their premade ones (round) are not what you want...that way can have nearly any style whimsy.
