I've never made cookies, but from what I've read, a lot of people use rolled buttercream. That'll be what I use when I finally give it a try. ![]()
i use toba garrett's glace icing. it's more forgiving than royal, but i'm dying to try the rolled buttercream and the marshmallow fondant
Thanks. I'll try the royal icing. I'm just wondering how the texture is. I've made royal icing flowers before and they are so hard. Guess the color flow butterfly I made was pretty hard too. I like soft cookies, so I'm wondering how this will turn out. This will be my first time making decorated cookies. I want to make some for my daughter dance class.
I use rolled buttercream too. It is so much easier to use than royal, although I do use royal accents.
Have fun!

My recipe uses just enough water to thin out the royal icing, that it is easy to bite. The fat in the cookies also prevents it from being like "teeth-breaking" royal. You'll love it!
It's easy to stack them, ship them, etc.
