...in ghosts? I know this is a loaded question for some people... and I am not trying to start a religious debate, nor am I trying to upset anyone, but I am curious about any members here who do believe in the presence of spirits of those who have passed away. I would love to speak to some people who have an interest in this, and who I feel would not chide me for some of the things I'd like to discuss. Whenever I want to talk about these things, it's hard to find someone who is not going to smile and nod politely, while thinking you are one brick shy of a full load! I am not a devil worshipper, and I am not trying to start my own psychic friends network, I would just like to share some very unique experiences that I've been through, that I think other people may be interested in!!

Hi Melvira, I just want to tell you that I believe in all paranormal activity, whatso ever. If you want to discuss it privately, pm or email me icon_smile.gif I'll be glad to talk to you! Me too, I find it hard to talk to people about this, but it's getting better. My mom always believed and I have a few friends that are more curious than believers, but at least they're not listening just to be polite, I think?!

Here is a link to a topic from last August: http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-36206-ghost.html There are a bunch of us that do. My hubby and I went on a ghost hunt on October 13 of last year--Friday the 13th--at Rolling Hills. TAPS had been there--the guys from Ghosthunters on Sci Fi and had some experiences. I didn't see anything, but my husband insists that he was pushed. It just happened to be absolutely FREEZING that night so I was eager to leave. We want to plan another trip for this summer so that we are in more comfortable clothes and can feel hot and cold pockets if we come across them.

A little off the subject, but my hubby is definitely a believer. Last night he played the meanest joke on my kids. There was a video that had a ghost sighting on it and he wanted them to watch it. Their poor faces against the computer screen and all of a sudden a scary ghost woman screams at them. They screamed and wouldn't stop crying. He definitely believes and that is why it scared him so much. I was as far from the computer as I could be. I knew even if I saw something, I wouldn't want to be close.

I believe in them myself and have had "experiences" as well. I've always said that my house is haunted, but that's a whole other story. There's a really cool haunted house webcam that I go to quite often. I've never personally seen anything on it, but a lot of other people on there have capped amazing pictures. It's fun to go there and try to see if you can see any ghosts.

Ok, Stephanie, thank you for that excellent 'heads up'... I am asking all of you other members to heed her warning and keep it pleasant!! I don't want this thread locked. Due to her warning, and the fact that my story includes a photo, I am NOT going to post it here. If you PM me I will send it to you with the picture, HOWEVER, I will warn you, it invovles my son and I am one of those fiercly protective mothers, so if you ask for the story, then write me back and make negative comments I will add you to my 'poopy people' list and not like you anymore!! icon_lol.gif It's really a great story, and it's all true... and it's just one of my many experiences. Let's just say mbelgard would be REALLY jealous of me! icon_wink.gif SO... if you're interested, just pop me a PM and I will share with you!

Sweetamber, I do not know where you see the post number, but no, I did not see it. Please enlighten me!!

EDITED TO ADD: I cannot attach the pic to a PM so please PM me your email address if you'd like to see/hear my story! Sorry for any inconvenience!

I am a believer. I have not had any personal encounters with them. However I do have pictures with what i beleive to be their orbs. My BF's sister has had experiences, his mom has seen one, his aunts and grandma have had experiences also.

And my BF didn't beleive until a couple of years ago when we were at his sister's house and we were the only two in the movie room. I was asleep and everyone else was in bed, and there is a pool table in there and someone was playing pool. He tried to get a picture of it but all he got was the balls on the table, they had been broke and were all over (they are always set up ready to play and they were that night too)

If you want someone local to get together with I know some people who would be interested. Give me a PM and we can chat about it.

Hi all, I to believe although I've never had any encounters myself. My SIL has an aunt that lives in Virginia and the house is built on Civil War grounds, so you can imagine the paranormal that goes on there! She wants me to go down there this summer, but I'm timid about the whole thing. Meanwhile she's been going there since she's a child and my nieces go there. Some of the stories she tells me, I can't imagine they're not true. She also has a picture of one her girls where in the background you can see "something". Just thought I's add something.

There are a lot of people that will tell you stories that are not necessarily true, they may be based on the truth, but embellished to make them more entertaining or impressive. Fortunately I have had enough experiences that I can rely solely on fact. Sometimes it's not as impressive as it might be if I went ahead and added a few 'extra' details, but I'd rather give the truth and let people be impressed by the 'realness' of it, instead of having them scoff because it sounds fake!!

For example, last night I couldn't sleep (I am living in the house where my grandmother lived for 60 years, we purchased after she passed, she was my best friend in the whole world!) I went to check on my baby, and *someone* had turned on the CD player and started a CD. And it wasn't one of the babies CD's, it was one from my collection. (Jane's Addiction isn't exactly lullaby baby music!! hahaha!) Now, that doe not seem that impressive. It would probably sound better if I said I SAW someone turn it on, but that would be a lie. But the facts are... there are three people in this house... two of them were laying side by side in bed when the music came on, the other was fast asleep in his crib and couldn't have turned it on from across the room even if he WAS awake. To me, that is significant. Also, if you pair it with the feelings I was having leading up to the event, it is quite special. This is the occurance that prompted me to start this thread. I still maintain that my baby story is quite amazing... and perhaps one of my best to date!!

Edited to add: Ray, I was in NO WAY saying your SIL's stories are made up... I misread your post the first time and thought you said you couldn't imagine they WERE true, but then noticed you said you couldn't imagine they WEREN'T true. BIG difference! Hahaha! Anyway, I was not referring to your SIL directly when I said sometimes people embellish!

Yea I could understand some embellishing stories, however, she did have a similar story to yours with the CD, only hers was an unplugged radio that would go on. She has others, I'm just glad that your experiences are "kind" ones, not that I've heard horrific stories about paranormal happenings, but I'm sure they can exist.

I also believe that there are special spirits in our presence. My dad use to have numerous trouble with his computer. He was always deleting things and getting viruses when he had plenty of protection. I inherited his computer for his business that I still run in his name. Every now and then I could swear that he is playing tricks on me with his computer, just to say, "I'm still here watching you." I also feel my grandparents around me and my husband's aunt visits us with messages. I also believe they let me know they are around and are taking care of my baby girl. Things show up that give me clues that no one else would have any idea what they mean. I love the fact that they still watch over my family. I also believe that our dogs from the past also visit. We have one dog that I swear is a reincarnated dog from our past. When people act like I must be nuts, I just say it's there loss that they are so close minded.

An unplugged radio... that's AWESOME!

A million years ago I had a boyfriend who would call me at 2am. A while after he passed my phone began to ring at 2am every night. I had a girlfriend who would spend the night at my apartment sometimes and she was a skeptic, she thought someone was yanking my chain by calling and not saying anything if I answered. I changed her mind the night she was there and it rang at 2am, but I had already had my phone service disconnected! She was even more convinced when I picked up the end of the UNPLUGGED phone cord! She's a believer nowadays!! icon_wink.gif

I had to throw my 2 cents in & say I'm a believer too. I don't know that there are "ghosts" or spirits around all the time (but I can't say there aren't!), but I know that after our dog died a few years ago she came back to visit my son. He was 2 when she died, and obviously didn't understand where she went. He asked for her every day, until one day I heard him wake up in his room and start talking to her. He said "Piper, what doing here?" I sat up in bed faster than I have ever in my life in total shock, and then he said it again. After that there was complete silence in his room for a few minutes, and then he started babbling on as usual. After that he never once asked for her again. He still says he misses her, but has never asked for her. I know in my heart that she came back to him to say goodbye.

Do i believe. Yeah. My mom died of cancer, she lived with me . When she was on her death bed we (my daughter and I) were taking turns sleeping. I had a dream where she told me to wake up. Well I got up and told my dd to get some sleep and I would stay up with gram. Within 5 minutes she opened her eyes (she had been in a coma) and said "I love you Jo-
Ann). She then took her last breath and left us. She still comes too me in my dreams.

I'm a believer, too. 11 years ago my best friend passed...for years afterward, no matter where we lived, we got a LOT of phone calls when no one was there, unusual sounds, etc. Right after the accident in which he died, I was alone in my apartment listening to our favorite CD, when a song that reminded me of him kept repeating...not long after that I had a dream that was so real that I'm still convinced he visited me to say goodbye. As time has passed and I have healed more, the incidents have gradually decreased. My son is named after him, and every once in a while he will make a face or a gesture that is 100% my friend's personality. I don't mean to say that I think he is reincarnated as my son, but that his influence is still in our lives...

I believe in what you may call the "supernatural" but I don't think they are the actual spirits from people who have died but demonic spirits. DON'T JUDGE ME! icon_lol.gif

This is a completely true story. . .

Once, a family from our congregation bought a framed painting of IDK, an old lady or something. It was nice so they bought it.

So, they buy the frame w/ the picture. They hang it up on their wall in the living room near the TV. Well the TV would turn on and off while watching it. It would just turn on and off, continuously.

They got a little spooked. But you know their thoughts- "ghosts aren't real."

So the next day, the frame isn't hanging there anymore. It is on the ground; it has fallen. They hang it back up. Ten minutes later, it has fallen again. They put it back up, and so forth. The darn thing won't stay up. They nail it up and it still falls down.

They go to sleep and just leave the frame out for another day. At night, they are sleeping. But they begin to hear scratches and screams from downstairs. It is at their doorstep. Front door is being scratched by an old woman and she is screeching, "Let me in! Let me in!"

So the family gets really freaked out and goes to talk to the elders in the congregation and they ask if they'd bought anything previously used or anything and they said, yes; their orders are to destroy the frame.

So they take the frame down and try to throw it away, but somehow it keeps falling out of the trash can. So they decide to just chop it up with a saw and burn the picture. The saw won't cut it. The picture sits in the fireplace and doesn't burn.

So they they finally end up taking it to the dump and nothing happens again. The elders of the congregation have to go over to their house and I guess "decontaminate" or "dedemonize" (you know what I mean) the house.

It was really creepy what happened. All that I know is that it's true.

jo_ann you really hit it. I had to leave the room for a moment. not to sound like a baby, but your post made me cry. I thought i was the only one. it is so good to know i'm not. My grandma was the closest person to me. She had to have surgery. and she was in the hospital. I had just gone to see her that night she was doing fine recovering great. I came home went to sleep with my then bf. I had a dream, my grandma told me not to worry she didn't hurt any more and she would never leave me, she said she would always be here for me.I immediately woke up i remember looking at the clock it was 4:36. i tried to wake up my bf he said you are just having a bad dream, i begged him to take me to the hospital. he told me no (i didn't have my car) i have to get up for work in an hr. so i finally talked myself into the fact that it was just a bad dream. my mom called at 5:00 and told me she was going to the hospital that they had called her and were moving my grandma to icu. i don't even recall my mom calling me ( i don't know if i was asleep or just not really here if that makes sense) but my mom says i told her to go, but that my grandma was no longer there. she was already gone. the next thing i remember was waking up to a knock on the door. i sat up and couldn't movie it hit me and i knew who was at the door and what they had to say and i didn't want to hear it. yes i do believe!!!!!

Ooh, this is a good one to take to the campfire with me! Here are my tales, all true stories --

First story -

My mother died when I was young. The night she died, I woke from a dream that I was walking into the funeral parlor, and saw her in the dress that we buried her in. I woke to the telephone ringing - it was the hospital, calling to tell us that she had passed.

Second story -

My grandmother had a major stroke about a month before she died. My father was on the road at the time (pre-cell phones) and could not be reached, as he had already left his location to return to NYC. It was about 10 PM, and I was still at the hospital, waiting for his arrival. My grandmother turned on her side and started reaching for the window with the arm that was paralized from the stroke! I knew that if I did not stop her from passing on before he got there, he would never forgive me. I looked at the window and told whomever that they cannot have her yet, my Dad is not here to say goodbye. Her arm went down slowly, and she rolled back down. She lasted another month before she passed. I hope it was the same person that came for her, because she seemed really happy to see them again.

Third story -

We had a fire in 1990, that displaced us and destroyed everything we owned. The local chapter of the American Red Cross put us up in a hotel for a few days. When we walked into the hotel room, my son stopped cold and turned white; I thought he was going to be sick. I asked him what was wrong, and he said that he had woken up from a dream in the middle of the night, and the dream was that he was walking into the very room we were staying in. He could even tell me what was in which drawer, before we opened it.

Yeah, what Nick said.

I don't believe that peoples souls "roam" or "haunt" the earth. My beliefs are that souls go to either heaven or hell after physical death & that they do not come back to "communicate" w/ the living. I also believe that Satan's demons can take on "human form" (aka "ghosts").
So can God's Angels.

I've had "experiences" from demonic spirits/"ghosts". I don't like talking about it though so I'm not going to go into all the details. Some were scary some weren't but because I know the so called "nice spirit" was from Satan also (trickery)I don't like talking about it.

Agreed as well here.

So here's MY story on the evil spirits:

About a year ago I was in a condo my family had purchased and was on vacation.. I was sitting in my room at night kind of poking around my room listening to music. I had very little experience with demons or whatever at the time. So I'm sitting on my bed flipping through a magazine and listening to music and I hear my name being called. I thought it was one of my family members so I open the door and answer them, but turns out no one was calling me. So I shut the door and I sit back down and I hear it again, coming from the opposite side of the room--not near the door... I was completely spooked, and I kept hearing it!! There was a male voice and a female voice coming from several directions. I figured it was late and I should get to bed. I'm almost about to get to sleep and something slammed into my stomach... so hard it jolted me awake!! TWICE!!

Now I know who I am in Christ and can rebuke them and all that jazz, but still!! FREAKY!!

-Jasmine
