I sure do. My old house was on Unsolved Mysteries.
I sure do. My old house was on Unsolved Mysteries.
OMG, it was?!?!?!?! Cool! What happened?
Okay, I'll join in.
Last May, my step-son's stepfather committed suicide. Well, before that happened, my son had lost his jacket at school and it was never found. Mike had always promised my son that he would replace the jacket and the expensive tape recorder in the pocket. Anyway, after Mike died, the jacket turned up at the school in a room that had been checked a dozen times, with the recorder still in the pocket! They also had phone calls from Mike's cell phone, even though the service had been disconnected.
These are some really cool stories. Thank you for sharing. I have no stories to share.
Strange, but true, When I clicked on post a reply I clicked on the emoticon then clicked on this area. My keyboard would NOT type!! As I am typing this I hear the wind gusting outside ![]()

Ok, Monica, either you are going to have to change your avatar, or you are going to HAVE to let me come pet that kitty's fluffy white belly! Soft, white kitty bellies turn me into emotional porridge!! There is nothing as soothing as a kitty belly. Well... vicodin isn't bad... but it's no kitty belly! My kitty has a polka dot belly, and it's just irrisistable!
You can come pet him
. Hes loveable, huggable & kissable. I just got done rubbing his belly!!
Sorry! I kinda forgot about this thread.
So, when my grandparents on my mother's side signed for the house, the realtors told them they'd let them out of the deal if they were afraid of ghosts.
My grandfather decided he was gonna have the house come hell or high water, so they took it. ''We ain't afraid of no ghost!''
So, they were renovating before they moved in. It had been a drug dealer's hideout for a long time. It was trashed.
So my grandfather was going upstairs to work, and he got to the top of the curved staircase, and there was a WWII soldier there. The guy opened his mouth to speak, and my grandfather fell backwards down the stairs. He went back up a short while later, and there was no one there. You can see the ghost in the windows watching for the family to come home. He blinks the lights off and on. He opened all the flip up blinds at one time. I played chess with him when I was a kid, all though I don't remember this. I came downstairs one day and told my mom ''I was playing chess with Joshua''. There was no one up there when she went up to check.
And my stepdad got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night. He walked through the library on the second floor. Joshua was sitting in the computer chair. He refuses to go in that room at night.
So when Unsolved Mysteries was there, the wall paper peeled off the wall and laid flat out on the floor. They had it on tape. A flour canister dumped all over the kitchen. Also on tape. The lights blinked off and on. The cupboards opened and closed for about an hour. All of it was on tape.
By the second day of taping, the camera guys wouldn't go back in the house.
The episode aired in 1996 or something.
And there's the ghost of a little slave girl who hangs around the old carriage house. They hear her crying a lot at night.
My aunt Amy lived in the carriage house when she was dying of breast cancer. She died 2 days before my 11th birthday, she was buried on my birthday. At that point, I didn't know my mother. I'd lived with my father's parents since I was about 3. My 11th birthday, I cried the whole day. I didn't know why.
So when I moved up to my mom's house a couple years ago, there was a lady in the backyard one afternoon in a white wedding dress and a white hat. She said she'd missed me terribly since I'd been away. She'd always known I'd come back someday.
I told my mom about it, and she said there were no women she knew of getting married that had known me as a kid.
I saw a picture of my aunt in her wedding dress. It was the same woman. She'd died about 10 years earlier. I suppose it's her that makes the footsteps down the hall of the old carriage house.
WOW, cinderspritzer, I have chills!!!
me too!!!
I guess I'm in the category of I'm not sure if I believe, but I won't say I DON'T believe.
Friend of the family story: They had just moved to a new house and her dad was very ill in the hospital. She kept telling him he had to get better so he could come and see their new house! He promised he'd come and see it. He passed away a couple of days later.
One night, all the kids in bed, hubby working the night shift, and she is sitting in the living room reading when she hears the back door. Now this is back in the days when no one locked their doors. She thought her hubby had come home early. She yells out "is that you?" and gets no answer. But she hears slow footsteps walking throughout the house. She hears them go up the stairs and walk around. She hears them come down the stairs and walk thru the house. Then they are gone.
She will swear to this day that it was her dad coming to see her house.
that gave me chills indydebi!
ok, I'll share..........one night, as my dh is gone through the week, I had went to use the bathroom...yes use the bathroom. I was sitting there...and had bowed my head down as I had a headache & wasn't feeling too well. The my bangs moved....they were swept up the side of my head and then they fell back down again.....
another night, I had left a magna doodle laying on the kitchen table....our children & I had been writing on it that night.....I left it with the writing on it......the next a.m. I get up to see a blank magna doodle.
I know who did the above things....because there have been other things happen too. It's my brother, I just know it. He was killed instantly in May of 2003, he had only been 22 for a month..he was with his fiancee and his best friend, both 21. They were killed by a drunk driver. My brother loved our children just as they were his own. I've seen him in dreams.......dreams that seemed REAL!
I know there is another post going around about this. My cousin can see spirits, etc.,etc. She has sent photos in of ghosts & they've accepted them & put them on their website.
I definitely believe and I'm definitely scared! LOL!
I don't know about ghosts, but I do believe in guardian angels. After a few incidences...a couple very near-death, I was very discouraged and wondered (out loud to my priest) why God would allow such terrible things to happen to me. He then pointed out that God actually has a guardian angel watching over me that didn't allow those things to be any worse. Talk about perspective, huh?
I just love hearing all of these different experiences! Thank you all for sharing, and keep them coming! ![]()
I think I mentioned that I live in the house that my grandmother lived in for 60 years until her death... the day we brought my baby home from the hospital she was seen standing in the window of the upstairs nursery, watching as we walked from the car with our new prize! That was so exciting to know that she was waiting for him!
I believe wholeheartedly. Our family was saved by one.
We were in the process of buying a house, and had moved in as renters until the paperwork went through. We had an older gentleman ghost who kept pointing to one corner of the master bedroom, in the floor. We would be gone, house locked, and come home to the light on in the master bedroom, and him at the window. As it turned out, there was disaster waiting in that room! There had been a recent remodel, and that corner was no longer supported and the bedroom was falling into the living room. We moved out, and sent the inspectors in. The remodel had been done without getting permits, and they removed a load-bearing wall.
Before that, a very good friend died at 16, weather related car accident. The week before, she had hit my car and dented it, but not told me. Her mother finally told me six months later. As long as I had that car, about once a week I would go out to the car, locked in the driveway with no keys in it, and the radio would be playing. The friend I sold the car to said it never happened to her. The dent had never been fixed, but it wasn't there when I sold it.
I believe in God.
I'm not sure if that was just an innocuous realization, but I am not trying to start a religious debate here... this thread will be locked like immediately if we do! Let's just keep it light like we have been doing. Thank you so much for understanding!!
why would it be locked if it turned religious? I wasn't trying to start any trouble, but why would the thread be locked? There are plenty of other strains out there in the forum about prayer and God and such. I'm confused.
Thanks for explaining it to me.

I don't think she meant that it will be locked for being religious, but that it is a very touchy subject that may spark an unpleasant debate. People are so passionate about religion, it's easy to accidentally start an argument. We've seen lots of threads turn ugly quickly because someone misunderstood or took offense where there was none intended. I know you weren't trying to start anything, we're just all a little gun-shy about controversial topics! ![]()
Shelbur, you hit the nail on the head!!
Rlsaxe, I did not mean at all to imply that you were 'stirring the pot' as it were, and I did not find any offense in your comment remotely, but as Shelbur pointed out, God and religion are completely volatile subjects. In a thread where people are sending their prayers to someone, you don't get fights, but in a thread where we are discussing this sort of thing, hot buttons can get pushed, and I just don't want to see a fight. I love all my CC friends and hate to see them argue... and goodness knows I don't need to get in any fights myself!
Thank you so much for understanding this. I absolutely don't want discord!!
Hey Zmama, I cannot post it here because it includes a picture which shows my son's face, and that is not allowed from what I have heard. And no, I cannot blur it out because his face is the whole POINT of the story!
I would love to email it to you but I will need an email addy. (I can't PM it to you because of the image!) You can PM me your addy!
I'll add another one... yesterday my Gram was playing games with me! (Remember, I live in 'her' house now!) I walked out the back door, got to the car and realized I forgot something, when I got back to the door she had locked the hook and eye latch!! You know, the kind that you can only lock from inside the house!! And no, there was no one else home! ![]()

strange, So how did you get back in?
heheheheheh fluffy kitty tummy!! Oh, sorry... I was going to answer your question...
I actually had to rip a hole in the screen and unlatch it. I was really mad because it's a new door and i've been ragging at everyone that they should never push on the screen to open the door because it will *RIP* it!! AHHHHHHHHHHH! The irony!!! She had that sense of humor though. I think she was helping me with the old priorities! ![]()
You are so funny with the kitty thing.
I am sorry about your ripped screen.
OK I have a queston. I have NEVER experenced this before. So how do you "know" it was a your Gram? With all due respect. How do you know the latch did not close when you closed the door? I would think of it like that not the other way. I hope I am making sense. Its just hard for me to "fatham".
THis is really interesting to me. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope that I am not showing disrespect, I am just very curious ![]()
No disrespect taken at all!! I am used to people asking those kinds of questions! I appreciate curiousity, it's verbal slamming and closed mindedness that I don't like!!
Actually, there is no real *evidence* that it was her, other than the feeling I get when these things happen. I can almost hear her, and I can feel her there. It is possible that *somehow* the latch managed to pick itself up and slide perfectly into the hole all on it's own (I don't let the door slam behind me, I always close it carefully, so there would not be movement to assist this theory) but frankly, if that's possible, then so is my theory of what happened!! Personally, I know which one I prefer!! The thing about this type of sensitivity is that it's based largely on perception. For example, one day I am using the restroom, and I look up at the towel that is hanging on the side of the shower that we use on the floor. The way that it was used that day moved around the 'nap' of the towel so that in perfectly smooth cursive handwriting, it spelled my mother's name. A few seconds later she called me and was having some 'problems' that needed my help. Some people would look at that and say it was a coincidence. It was just that the way people had stepped on the towel had caused the nap to move and the light and dark portions coincidentally looked like they were spelling A name. But in my mind, when I add in the fact that it was not like a messy half readable name, it was perfect cursive, and that it was HER name, and she called needing me within a few seconds, to me, that makes it a *sign*, or something like that. It's also about frequency... when you have one or two things happen, coincidence is easy to believe. But when these things are happening over and over, it's hard to ignore the significance. My sister is pregnant, we were on the phone, she told me she was shopping for baby clothes. She picked up an outfit and said, "Awwwww" then I said, "Hey, you have to find this outfit that I dreamt about your son in last night." And quickly described it. She said, "Oh my God Melissa, that's the outfit I just picked up and said 'Awwww about!" And she is a very honest person, she wouldn't say that just to 'mess with me'. (Of course she bought the outfit right then and there!)
Anyway, sorry to get so wordy here... it's just that there are so many examples I can give!
And I love talking about this!!
AHhh thank you for being so sweet about this. ![]()
I think I am understanding what you are saying. Though I have not experienced it, iI still mayse can see where you are coming from.
Thanks ![]()
