Well, not sure if you realize this, but poured fondant and rolled fondant are different things. Poured fondant is like a glaze, usualy requiring a couple of coats whereas rolled fondant is more like a covering, almost like piecrust. Haven't tried this product yet, but it should work as well as a recipe for poured fondant works. These are usually used to cover petit fours. And sorry, if you already knew this, I just wasn't sure.

thanks for clearing that up. i was under the impression that quick pour would look rolled fondant when finished. so pored fondant just put a smooth, shiny glaze on cakes?

Yes, but it isn't translucent, it is sort of like a watered down icing for lack of a better description. That is why you sometimes need two coats because sometimes you can still see the cake through the icing. But you can colour it any colour you like and get an iced effect. Basically it is a really runny icing that sets up, sort of a bit hardened but not hard. Haha, guess that sounds a bit confusing.

SquirrellyCakes,

How does the QPF taste? I haven't tried it yet, but need a quicker way to make my petit fours.

Hi there, I haven't tried it. But I have heard it is pretty much the same taste as when you make it from scratch, people seem to like it.

Haha, well I can't say I blame you, haha!
No, Canadian Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October, so I am just sitting here being lazy, haha!
Honestly, if our Thanksgiving was a close to Christmas as yours is, I think I would be passing on Turkey, haha! We were once on a diet when my hubby started to buy fresh turkeys every weekend, it got so I couldn't look a turkey in the drumstick without feeling a bit ill, haha! So I need that extra time in between.
It is freezing cold here, about 7F with the windchill and snow coming down. Not really cold compared to what it can be but in November, it does seem wicked, haha! Looks pretty though, at least through the window.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

TY SquirrellyCakes. We ONLY do Turkey on Thanksgiving. We eat ham on Christmas just so we don't get sick of it. lol

WOW, that sounds REALLY cold! I have been complaining about the 40s here. Seems really warm today to be 58F! I have lived at the beach too long. I need to move back to the mountains so I can remember what cold feels like & actually see snow again!

Now that is a holiday season! icon_lol.gif

Haha, it is all in what we get used to, isn't it? It is supposed to warm up to the 50's by the weekend and right about now, that sounds toasty warm.
You are smart, I would love to do ham or even roast beef for Christmas, but the girls love turkey so I cannot get around it. I also think it would be less work on a busy day. Oh heck, there have been Christmasses where I would settle for hotdogs, haha! At someone else's house....
So don't you folks have all of these huge sales coming up for the weekend?

We do have the huge sales! I hate shopping when it's crowded but the Day After Sales are a must do for me! I haven't really seen anything I want to buy yet though. thumbsdown.gif

Bummer, I bet if you went shopping you would find something, haha! Your Thanksgiving Sales are like our Boxing Day Sales with the huge crowds. I don't like crowds either so I can sympathize.

I know I would DEFINITELY find something if I were to go! That's why I avoid going to the stores when the funds start getting low...too many temptations! icon_razz.gif

In that case I won't say what it is in San Antonio icon_smile.gif As for the sales... I avoid shopping like a plague.. I went one year to Walmart and a lady (and I use the term loosly) was taking things out of my cart icon_eek.gif . Ok back to work I go (ok, ok , so I will still be on here..)

81F!!!! Holy heatwave Batman!! I think I will wintering in the Gulf this year! lol

I usually brave the sales the day after Thanksgiving, but this year I will be working them. yippee for me. I have already had people take items I am restocking out of my hands & put them down elsewhere....and that was right after Halloween. I think Maxine always says it best....

Happy Holidays...Bite me!!! ROFL
