Lillies Of The Valley
This is my first wedding cake. I started the Wilton classes three months ago and I wanted to get some practice and add some wedding cake pictures in my album. It is yellow cake with buttercream frosting. The lillies are made from royal icing. Let me know what you think. I don't mind pointers at all.

Graduation Cake
Probably one of my favorite cakes of all time! Took me a while to do so I would recommend setting aside 3 days to decorate. I used to try to cover the entire book but found a website that said to only cover the side and top then to trim smaller pieces for the bottom edges. This cake was ordered as a surprise for a girl graduating from college from her fiancé who was stationed overseas. It wss a huge hit! Recipe is Confetti Cakes vanilla and chocolate, I find that home recipes are necessary for jobs like this as boxed mix is not sturdy enough. All decorations are fondant/gumpaste. I used a brush with a little bit of brown wilton gel coloring on the book. The "Love, John" was writting with an edible marker. Thanks so much for looking!!! :)

Baking Contest At Annual Oktoberfest
I won first place!!! This is a Butter Pecan Cake with Apricots and Cream Cheese Icing. Also, this was my first time to do the basket weave, which was a lot of fun. The leaves are fondant with leave cookie cutters and I used a toothpick to make the veins. The I took gel colors and watered them down with Lemon extract to paint the color.

Square Fondant Covered Wedding Cake
This was the cake that was suppose to have been done the weekend Rita hit Louisiana. All the flowers I had made, melted from the heat when we lost power. I got a call late Monday telling me the wedding was rescheduled for this Friday. The bows made previoussly from fondant had fallen didn't look right. I didn't realize it so I had my sister make bows from ribbon and used on the corners of the cake. The flowers are made from gumpaste and centers were brushed with magenta luster dust.
