Wall E
Wall E for my twins' 4th birthday. About 7x7x7 cut from a 12x18. Chocolate WASC torted and filled with peanut butter filling, iced with chocolate ganache. Body is cake, treads are styro covered in fondant, all else is RKTs. I used cocoa to dirty him up. Ran out of time to finish his arms and hands.

My First Wedding Cake, All Buttercream Celtic Theme
All buttercream, 6", 8", 10", 12", and 14" dummy. First wedding cake, first gumpaste flowers, first run with isomalt. Spice cake with maple buttercream. Edible pearls, pearl dusted fondant lace, pearl dusted white chocolate Celtic trinity knots on one tier, clear isomalt Celtic knots on another tier. Fabric ribbon (bride's choice). An isomalt disc supports the topper. I dragged all my cake stuff 750 miles to make this in my Mom's kitchen for my cousin's wedding. Then my gumpaste peonies and roses were too big to fit between the tiers, so I had to use purchased roses there. :(

Phineas & Ferb World's Biggest Ice Cream Cone Cake
Inspired by the ice cream cone cakes here on CC. Buttercream "ice cream" scoops, cone is styro covered in fondant, fence is fondant. Tree is cake, covered in buttercream as well. Tree trunk is modeling chocolate. Sorry for the terrible pic, but I thought I could get a better one at the party. Unfortunately, the cone crashed in the car on the way. :( Lesson learned!

Chocolate Sailboat Theme
This is a chocolate WASC torted, filled, and iced with chocolate SMBC. Dark chocolate dots and dark and white chocolate sails. Aside from it being chocolate/chocolate (because that's what my Dad wanted), I had no design plan whatsoever. I didn't even have my caking supplies with me - I just used what my Mom had. The bottom border was done using a plastic tip that was barely bigger than a Wilton #3! It was great for practicing SMBC. :-)

Beach Wedding Bridal Shower Cupcakes
Bridal shower cupcakes for a beach wedding. Carrot cake with cream cheese icing, graham cracker "sand," and white chocolate seashells painted with luster dusts. Wrappers cut with the Cricut. Gumpaste starfish cake topper. I loved making these. They're my version of some beautiful cupcakes made by Kello here on CC. (Thank you for your help!)

Round Crib Baby Shower
Gumpaste round crib, bow, and baby. All else is fondant. The posts with the purple ball finials are dowels covered in gumpaste and go all the way to the bottom cake board. The crib was supposed to be firmly attached to them and "float" around the top tier, but I broke the top and bottom rails during assembly and had to attach the crib directly to the tier on the fly. Fixing my silly mistake ate up my time for finishing touches, so I was pretty disappointed with how this one turned out. To me it looks sloppy and unfinished. It was definitely a learning experience!

Thomas The Tank Engine
This Thomas the Tank Engine tested my repairing skills. WASC with chocolate buttercream. It started smoothly but collapsed before I put the fondant on. I removed & replaced the bottom layer, causing the top two layers to split in several places. It was a mess! It doesn't look as good as I had originally hoped, but it doesn't look as bad as I was afraid it would.

Apple
Fondant apple carved from 4 10" rounds for Teachers Appreciation Day. Everything is fondant except the little apple I set on the board to show the size, and the RI piping. My first attempt at a carved cake! Edited to add: Inside is white cake sprinkled with a few chocolate chips at the center of each layer to look like seeds.

Guess How Much I Love You
Based on the book Guess How Much I Love You, inspired by a cake by BrendansMum here on CC. Chocolate WASC cake iced and filled with dark chocolate ganache, covered in fondant. Fondant decorations except for the gumpaste moon (pearl dusted), gumpaste Nutbrown Hare (handpainted - yay!), and gumpaste scroll plaque (written with edible marker).

Ladybug Cake
Chocolate WASC iced and filled with chocolate ganache, covered in fondant. Fondant letter A, ladybugs, and forget-me-nots, with RI piping. Luster dusted the main part of the cake, but I guess I need a lot more. As I got ready to do the black scrolls on the white cake, the insanity of that decision (considering my WAY novice skill level) struck me - but I did the best I could.

White Scrolls Cake
WASC iced with white chocolate ganache, covered in fondant with RI piping. This was a practice cake - I just wanted to test the flavors. But after my unfortunate potholder/cooling rack incident, it also qualifies as a disaster! The top layer is split and broken in about 5 pieces and patched back up with ganache. I'd never piped with RI before this, but it seemed like a good time to try it.

Box Of Chocolates Cake
Single layer white cake, torted and filled with vanilla almond custard and strawberry preserves, covered in fondant. Chocolates are store-bought. This actually began as a test cake to try a new cake recipe and flavor combination, as well as testing the filling stability under fondant. The decision to try this Bakerella design was a bit last-minute - but I look forward to trying it again when I have time to execute the design better and do it some justice!
