Hi.

I was getting ready to pack up my car and go down to NO, but with a new baby in the family my doctor suggested that I curb my enthusiasm.lol

But the school is having a dinner on October 25 and I have volunteered to work in the pastry kitchen.

Out contribution to the silent auction part of the dinner will be a Huge chocolate box filled with truffles.

I'm going to make TROPICAL TRUFFLES since we are in Miami.

By the time we make that box, we will have made 2 other boxes and hopefully I will have developed my truffle recipes so they will be an attraction and interest the bidders with the unusual flavors!

Wish me luck...I will keep you all posted, with pictures and all!..lol

That's great!

I went to back to school night last night at my son's school. Harford County Public Schools has a policy against charities and certain fund raisers but due to the magnitude of the devistation in the south they are actually coordinating a collection to help the victims of the hurricane. All schools in the county are collecting donations and have set up an account for the funds. On Sept 30th HCPS will be writing a check for the funds collected. I know a lot of the children are going door to door looking for donations.

pasty diva.....could you please tell me how they are operating the silent auction at the school? I would very much like to do this with my French Club students. They are very desperate to do a fund raiser...they really want to help. I am trying to think of ideas that will make alot of money fast so we can get it to the red cross. Thanks! Ellen
