Not discouraged. Keep in mind, they were already two weeks behind when they started going through the bills. I would say, we are right on schedule here. No point in being discouraged, just keep focused on the future and hang tough. We are going to see this through.

They didn't do pending business first. We are watching boring immunization/pharmacy stuff.

Right now they are listening to testimony on a bill about reimbursements for immunizations.

Hopefully they will get to the voting before they recess to go to the full House.

I think is pretty neat. This would mean that I wouldn't have to wait 3 hours in the doctors office for a 5 minute shot. In my community, there are 7 doctors and on average, about 1500 patients EACH. Excluding the people who do not go to the doctor, or who travel 100 miles to see the next nearest doctor.

Hey, wait a sec! They are saying that some Pharmacists ALREADY give immunizations??? UGH! Well that excludes us! There are no Pharmacists that give shots here.
Looks like I am still waiting!

I am working and listening to the Committee in the background however, if I just heard correctly, they won't be voting on any pending bills today. It will be on their agenda for tomorrow. (Which tomorrow is a lighter load according to the notice of public hearing so they will be much easier to fit in.) It stinks that I will be in meetings and testing kids all day tomorrow so I won't be able to listen like I can today at home. icon_cry.gif

Did anyone else understand this to be what I understood?

Committee just broke to go to the floor. No pending business thus far. However, if I heard correctly, they will not be voting bills out of the committee today, but will be voting them out tomorrow instead.

So, another day to wait. icon_sad.gif

No it doesn't. I'm trying to believe that this is the normal process and that Patrick from Gattis' office would let us know if we needed to do something.

Kelly, thanks for spearheading this....count me in for the trip to Austin!!! Maybe if we arrive with some "home made" goodies for the committee members to enjoy, they will see what a good thing it would be....HEY, if the corporate lobbyist can do, why can't some home bakers!!!!!!!! Anyone else from the Frisco area? We could carrivan!!!!!!!

For those unable to watch the feed, the committee did not start off with pending business again, but started with a bill dealing with medical licensing/schools. They might be discussing that one for a while.

Happy thoughts this morning!

They have adjourned until 45 min after the House Session ends.

Hopefully they will follow the pattern of the past couple meetings, and vote on pending bills right after they reconvene.
