I thought it would be kind of cool if we started a thread to post our one favorite cake of all time that we have made. Ya know, like the one you are the most proud of--either because of the theme, or technique used or just because it was something you never thought you could pull off...
Here's mine...
I would have to say that this one is my favorite because my son still talks about it and his birthday was over a month ago! For my 4 year old that's a big thing...I can't help but feel special!
All I have to say is WOW!! I won't show my son that because he will want it for his 7th bday, and I know I wouldn't be able to pull that one off! Amazing work. I won't post my favorite, still learning so much, but this will be a fun thread to watch. Good job!
I don't do grand cakes yet, but I think (for the same reasons as you), my favorite cake was the Phantom of the Opera cake I made for my 6 year old daughter's birthday last month. She (like your son) STILL talks about it. She LOVES the Phantom!
I won't post the picture here, but it's in my photos.
Great idea!
i don't have all my cakes in my photos..... so I think I am still searching for my "it" cake.
BUt goodness that cake is great....
I'm not really sure which of my cakes are my favorites. Elmo's world, Wiggles, definately the wedding cake, and probably the litter box cake. I put so much into these cakes, that each one holds a special place for me. Good thing I don't do too many.

Fantastic cakes!! My favorite was my son's 5th birthday cake... I never thought I would get all those little fondant figures made! He's still talking about it 2 months later, and he wants the same cake next year! (fat chance!! LOL) I know everyone knows Mario Bros., this cake was meant to represent the Mario Party game, which is like a board game (but it's still a video game)
I would say my "it" cake would have to be my Princess Castle Cake for my daughter. I have gotten so many great compliments from so many people here at CC. Can you believe that after I posted it the first time (2nd time was for a contest), I was so inspired that I decided to bite the bullet and go take Wilton II!?!

All those cakes are amazing. I don't yet have an "it" cake but the cake that I most proud of is my daughters 4th birthday castle cake. I never thought I'd be able to accomplish anything like it and even though there were many flaws, I manage to pull it off thanks to all the help, support and encouragement that I received from CC members.
Probably my blue scroll cake in my pics. I get more requests for that design than any other.
I have a few coming up this year that feel like they could be the new "it", though...heh heh
WOW all the cakes posted are so awesome. I don't know which one of mine is "the it cake"........I'm not that great yet
JaneK - your cake is wonderful - I wish I could do figures like that - and that bow! amazing!
This is my favorite, because I never thought I'd be able to pull it off... but I did. And won best of show with it.
My "it" cake was this last wedding cake that I just finished. It is not nearly as detailed as you talented ladies are, but for me it was my best. It was a square cake iced in BC. My corners looked nice and my BC smoothed almost perfectly.
