I just looked up 250 grams of butter. It equals 17.43 tablespoons (US) of butter, or just over 2 cubes (each cube is 8 tablespoons). Also, soda bicarbonate is just another name for baking soda. Castor sugar is sold as "superfine" sugar in the US. It is more fine than regular sugar but less fine than powdered. Apparently you can make your own by grinding granulated sugar in a food processor.
250 grams of butter is also 1 1/2 cups. And one cup of self rising flour can be substituted one cup of all purpose flour + 1 1/4 tsp of baking powder + 1/8 tsp of salt. Thanks Traci for the other info :)
I was searching for months for the perfect chocolate cake for my daughter's wedding cake. This is the one. It holds shape, moist and the taste is perfect. Thank you so much for posting Frea.

Do you just cream the butter and sugar then add the rest of the ingredients?

What would you recommend for soda bicarbonate?
