Birthday Cake
I am a beginner and this was my first "paid for cake" I was really nervous about what my neighbor would think of it. I guess they all liked it, it was chocolate with chocolate ganache filling. My neighbor's father in law (who apparently is very picky) wanted her to tell me it was the best cake he'd had in a long time. Now she wants me to make another!
Beautiful job. This obviously is a "natural" talent for you because it is fantastic and in no way looks like you are a beginner. :D
It's great! The colours, the size (proportions), the string-work and ruffles too! Are the roses BC or Royal?
They are royal, I was in a crunch for time and I wanted to make them ahead. I wanted them to go all the way around the border, but after I wrote "happy birthday" I didnt have room!
Your cake is very beautiful! Keep up the Great work!
Beautiful roses!!! Love the color
This is great!! Check out the string garland and ruffle -- very nice
very pretty
i only WISH i could make roses as pretty as yours :) they're absolutely perfect :)
Your stringwork is perfect. I have never got the hang of it. Do you have any tips you'd like to share?
Actually this was the first and only time I ever did it (mostly because it kept breaking afterward! ugh!) But I thought it was pretty easy. Basically, dont try to 'draw' the line. I just pulled the tip away from the cake and squeezed the bag (without even moving it much) then when it was long enough I just attached it to the cake. Does that make sense??
Beautiful work!! ... With cakes looking like this, you'll be selling many!!
You are a born natural! I'm in awe of your talent. You certainly have mastered roses!!
I agree with everyone....I think this is like a natural talent for you....I could never make a cake like this!! Great job!!
Your roses are absolutely perfect! I have so much trouble with them. Wonderful job on the cake!!
Your roses are perfect!! Beautiful!!!
Beautiful cake, roses are perfect.
What a gorgeous cake! I love the roses (form and color) and the symmetry of the cake. The stringwork on the side is beautiful! The borders and ruffles are fantastic. All in all, that is one great looking cake and it sounds delicous too. No wonder they want more!
