I was tickled pink when we got an invite from Ate Fiona and baby Kizhna. They were celebrating both their birthdays tomorrow! Fiona will be 7 and Kizhna will be 1. How cool is that?! I offered to make their cake and their mom wanted it to be colorful. Their invite had a fairy sitting on a toadstool. Here's what I made.... Chocolate cake with vanilla-strawberry filling covered and decorated with fondant and gumpaste. I thought it would be nice to have a 2 tier cake that's sort of independent from one another. I know it's hard for a baby to have a good photo with their cake as it's on the table and the parents can only bend so close with the baby to be near it. This way, they can just pick up the top tier and have their photo opt =)....
