Castle Cake

Castle Cake on Cake Central

Castle cake for a friend's granddaughter's birthday. 8" double layer on bottom, 6" round double layer on top. Iced in buttercream. Towers are regular ice cream cones with an upside down sugar cone on top. Put lollipop sticks through cones to help keep them in place..... would do something different next time, it's still top heavy and wobbly. Suggestions? Banner is made from a sheet of colored foam with foam marker writing.

Oh, cake disaster- first one of probably many more to come. Took this to my friend and two towers leaned over due to the bumpy ride. Was able to stand them back up, but she will be driving it to the party. I'm cringing at the thought! Good thing this wasn't a paid cake, but I still wanted to cry! Next time- if I ever do this one again- I will use cupcakes on the bottom instead of cake cones or maybe a dowel through the cake cone. ?? Oh well, it was fun
