I made this cake for my dear friend's birthday. My first gumpaste calla lilies. I got the idea from sweetpassion' wonderful cakes! Six inch Chocolate Cake with Caramel filling.

Very pretty!!
how beautiful!!!! the flowers are beautiful but the stripes are my favorite!!
They are nice, did you have a mold? or did you free hand?
I rolled gumpaste out very thin, then used a heart shaped cookie cutter. There are actual calla lily cutters available, but I don't have one... yet!... so I had to improvise! Thanks :)
absolutely beautiful--what is the center yellow out of?? gumpaste too???
Yes. It's basically a gumpaste log on a wire. I then brushed on a mixture of meringue powder and water (equal amounts) to glue on the cornmeal, Thanks for all of your comments!
Thanks, I've never seen that technique before! I'll give it a try, with some water :D

Very well done. Gorgeous flowers.

Very pretty!
Very pretty and "springy"!!!!!!!!!!
Very unique looking cake.... I love it!
Great lilies. Do you mind sharing your technique? [email protected]
Awesome! Tell me about the fondant, do you just lay different colours beside each other & roll them out together?
great job!!!!
Yes. That's what I did with the fondant. Although, I think making thinner stripes of the colors would have looked nicer. At some points, the stripes started separating, you can see it between the yellow pink, so I wonder if moistening the fondant slightly would have helped. Take a look at sweetpassion's cake. It's simply stunning! :)
Pretty!!!! Looks like a sand art vase! I like it!!
Fabulous! Love the colors!
