This is another cake that I did for a rubber stamping club meeting. I had a lot of fun with this cake. (Having two boys, I don't get to do many "girly" things.) The icing is buttercream and the flowers are royal.
As everyone said you have done a wonderful job of replicating the book. I have seen this attempted on a few occassions but this is certainly one of the best... congratulations.. Can I ask what made you decide on royal for the roses rather than buttercream... I want to give this cake a try down the track (the reason I baught the book) and wondered if you did it for a reason.
I used royal instead of buttercream to save myself time. I have to take whatever shortcuts I can when trying to chase down my boys. Doing the roses the week prior saved me a lot of time. There really wasn't a special occasion. A friend of mine was having an open house for a bunch of independent consultants (CM, SU, PC, TS, & MK) and I was asked to participate by bringing a cake - to hopefully attract some customers. But there ended up being a hurricane that day and no one showed up.
