Last year my wife and I were watching a cake show on Food Network. I told her that it didn't look that hard. She told me that I couldn't do it. That was the wrong thing to say. I read, watched, and practiced and entered a easter basket cake in the State Fair at DuQuoin Illinois this year. I got a blue ribbon for the Holiday Cake class and Best of Show for decorated cakes.

Very nice, Ken. I especially like the paint job, makes the basket look like real rattan.

Keep at it.

Congratulations! So now that you have 'started at the top' what are you going to do from here? Are you planning to continue cake decorating? You obviously have a talent for it!

Great job! I usually tell people that anyone can do it, if they have patience.

thumbs_up.gif WOW icon_surprised.gif Super job, great detail on the basket! I wish my hubby could do that, then we both could work on cakes...NOT!!! (his greatest cooking skill is mac & cheese!)
