Fruity Semi-Naked Wedding Cake
Vanilla cake. 6", 9" and 12" tiers each 4.5" tall. Two layers of icing and fruits between each tier. Fruits were bought at a local market. Only had a few issues with leaking strawberries on the edge (would recommend to place the strawberries more on the inside of the cake and create a barrier with the other fruits on the edge). The figurines were made in fondant. Fresh dried lavender for the cake topper and at the bottom.

Geode Cake
The interior of the cake represents the hill formations 125 million years ago in the south of Quebec (called the Monteregian hills). Altering colors for cake batter to give folds in the sedimentary rock when the igneous rock pushed up. The baked chocolate cake in a bowl represents the igneous rock intrusion. There is also a pink layer of icing between to represent contact metamorphism. The geode was made by supersaturating a sugar syrup and letting it cool in a bowl to take shape. I added the fondant after it dried. The rock cores are also fondant.

Helicopter With Rotating Blades
The cockpit is made out of cake and the tail is made out of rice krispies, then covered in fondant. The blades are out of wood (large popsicle stick) and covered in fondant. I made a small whole in each blade to fit a tooth pick and when inserted in the cake, it allowed to blades to rotate! I also added icing dots as bolts to add detail.

Cowboy Hat And Hay
The hay is a one layer 9x16 sheet (I added the extra 3 inches to the 9x13) covered with icing. I used a brush and a fork to get the texture. The hat was made with 3 layers of 9inch round pans, then covered in fondant. The rim is entirely gumpaste and it took only 2 days to dry. At first I did 50/50 ratio fondant and gumpaste 7 days before it was due and it wasnt drying up at all. So 2 days before I decided I had to try gumpaste only and it worked!
