This is for a boy's 7th birthday. He's a huge fan of soccer, plays it, lives it... Always roots for Barcelona, Real Madrid - a second favorite. Ok, since this isn't a client job, but a family job, I did not invest as much time into the cake, and some of the things are less refined as I could make them. It was a lot of work even to do a so-so job. But I was trying to relate the dynamic of the game and excitement of the goal. The players are fondant (Messi is scoring the 7th goal for Barca, Ronaldo is grabbing his head in despair, and so on). Goals are royal icing. And I think my son is going to love it.

Butter-vanilla jumbo cupcakes with strawberry-creamcheese filling. "Ornaments" are chocolate with fondant and royal icing mix. These were done kind of half-butt (not for sale, for family gathering, and under some time deficit), I used a different RI than I normally would. I think with a stiffer icing, the design on ornaments can be improved. But turned out fun anyway.
Cake on a simpler side, not meant to be too realistic of a Zombie head, just for my kids and their friends. I did have fun making candy teeth and other treats this year
Napoleon cake with butterscotch/egg custard filling, some whipped buttercream, and glazed fruit. Haven't done these in a long time, and forgot what a pain it is to make the dough from scratch, and bake enough sheets.
