Tony Ward Inspired Cake
It was a real honor to be invited again to create a cake for the Cake Central magazine! And this time for the Fassion issue! <3 The cake was inspired in this Tony Ward dress. I made isomalt gems and used sugar beads and pearls to create the effects similares to the ones in the dress. Also wanted to introduce a gravity defying element so I created the ring structure supporting the top of the cake.
Rhythmic Gymnastics - Sport Cakes For Peace Collaboration
I’ve always been fascinated seeing rhythmic gymnastics presentations, especially the ribbons with the beautiful figures they make while the gymnasts do their acrobatics. When I decided to organize this collaboration, I immediately thought of this sport and of course I had to make the gymnast “fly” somehow. :D After seeing several videos of presentations and competitions, this position was one of the most pleasing to me and I decided to try to reproduce it, defying gravity. Sports For Peace - Sport Cakes For Peace Collaboration
Sport Cakes for Peace is a cake collaboration created by Elisabete Caseiro from @BetySugarland – Cake Design by Elisabete Caseiro to celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, April 6th, 2017. On August 23 of 2013, the UN proclaimed that the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace would be celebrated April 6 every year. This day is a celebration of the power of sport to drive social change, community development and to foster peace and understanding. This date also marks the opening of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896. This was an open collaboration and everyone who was interested could participate creating a Cake, Cookies or Sugar Piece representing this theme. At the end we were 50 cake decorators from 22 countries all over the world and we tried to cover a wide range of sports. It was a real pleasure to coach this wonderful team! Please check all the fabulous pieces in the following links and don’t forget to leave your like on the page. I created this cake to represent the collaboration Sport Cakes for Peace. This cake was my way of representing the theme of collaboration. With various sports on its faces and, of course, the peace dove of our logo at the top. Somehow it was a challenge because it is a bit different from what I usually do and the gaps between the various parts of the cake presented some difficulty requiring a rigorous planning. I hope you like it. "academic Tuna Guy" - Music Around The World - Cake Notes
Welcome to Music Around the World – Cake Notes! On October 1st the world celebrated International Day of Music! Music Around the World – Cake Notes is a cake collaboration of 41 cake and sugar artists from all over the world, representing 24 countries and presenting the music made around the world. You can see all the creations together in our gallery, as well as the individual albums with details of every piece. For each piece there is a video that illustrates somehow the presented piece, so you can not only appreciate the beauty of the creation but also the music itself. A collaboration to appreciate with all your senses… <3 Page: https://www.facebook.com/MusicAroundtheWorldCakeNotes/ Gallery: https://www.facebook.com/MusicAroundtheWorldCakeNotes/photos/?tab=album&album_id=560657390789850 This was one of my cakes. I wanted to make a cake that would represent my countrry, Portugal. A _Tuna_ is a musical group, that consists mainly of string instruments, and usually also percussion instruments like bass drum and tambourine. The Tuna can be presented as a mere instrumental ensemble (its first origin) and in the version voice and instrument (currently in vogue). This work represents the "Academic Tuna" a group of higher education students. One of the figures that stands out in an academic tuna, and that always fascinated me in my university student days, is the Tambourine player (_Pandeireta_) which sometimes presents an almost acrobatic show. This caricature is my tribute to portuguese "Tunas" and excellent "Pandeitetas" that exist in our universities. ! http://res.cloudinary.com/cd/f_auto/Picture6_mdjj8y.jpg ! ! http://res.cloudinary.com/cd/f_auto/Picture10_gnzja6.jpg ! ! http://res.cloudinary.com/cd/f_auto/Picture26_c0roiq.jpg ! ! http://res.cloudinary.com/cd/f_auto/Picture27_h5wq97.jpg ! In this video is a performance of the Coimbra University Tuna with a great tambourine players (Pandeiretas) exhibition. I’m really grateful to all the fabulous artists that accepted to join me in this musical collaboration. I’m really glad to be at the side of all this talent!
Vintage Nautical Wedding
I was so happy when I was invited to make a cake for Cake Central magazine and even more when I knew it would acctually be featured. It was an honor and a plesure to do this. Hope you like it… xx
Klimt's Kiss Inspired Cake
The couple loved a Klint’s Kiss cake I made some time ago and wanted a cake inspired by the same painting, but they asked me to incorporate some blue because they had blue on the flowers and decoration. Hope you like it too… xx
Kung Fu Panda Mania Collab - My Piece
A group of Kung Fu Cakers from over the world joined to celebrate the release of the third movie of Kung Fu Panda. This was my contribution. I love challenges and with this piece I wanted to challenge gravity. After all the characters of Kung Fu Panda are permanently defying gravity themselves. :) So here is Po, Tigress and Monkey in a Kung Fu pose. You can check the other pieces here https://www.facebook.com/Kung-Fu-Panda-Mania-An-artistic-m…/
My niece loves playing the guitar and her favorite colour is blue. I wanted to make something special for her 15th birthday and decided to make a blue guitar and make some painting to add interest. Her first reaction was saying that she wants a real guitar just like this. LOL
Pingu And The Balloons - Gravity Defying Cake
I made this gravity defying cake for a litle boy second birthday. Both Pingu and bunch of baloons are all cake as you can see in the last picture
Flying Dragon (How To Train Your Dragon)
Hiccup is riding his dragon Toothless who’s flying over the see. The dragon is 100% cake and is standing only in one of his front legs. The aproximate measures are 80 cm x 70cm x 50cm This was definetly the most gravity defying cake I’ve ever done, because of the position and the length of the dragon, and also because of his opened wings. It was a big chalenge but I love the result. I hope you like it too…
Caillou Standing On One Leg Cake
Caillou is dancing, standing on just one leg, while he plays the guitar. He is about 70 cm high. I also made a whole table of sweets of the same theme, like gelatines, cookies, cupcakes and much more, as you can see at the second photo. :)
I Made This Cake For A Competition Devoted To The 20Th Anniversary Of Disneyland Parismy Disney Won The 2Nd Prize This Cake Was Defi
I made this cake for a competition devoted to the 20th anniversary of Disneyland Paris. “My Disney” won the 2nd Prize . This cake was definitely the biggest challenge I’ve had to date and I felt a great satisfaction to finish it. I tried to pay homage to Disneyland Paris in all its magnitude. In it are represented the Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park , with some of its major attractions, from the charts, buildings, through the carousels and characters, ending, as might be expected, with the figure of Mickey that symbolizes all Disney magic. The cake was 2m tall! I hope that you enjoy it as much as I liked to do it!
Sulley are Mike now at the University, learning to be the most scary monstres. After a long night studying, Mike falls asleep and his friend Sully takes the chance to scare him. :)
Pink Panther sculpted cake. It was a litle bit tricky because of the thin body and big head, but I loved to do it. :)
Floating Sponge Bob
I made this cake for my son's birthday party. Sponge bob is riding a jelly fish, wich is suported by only one of its tentacles. Everything else is floating in the air (or may I say swimming in the water?)
Darth Vader's Ship
This was probably the most dificult structured cake I made. I wanted to create a flying ship, so I made a space background wall and the entire cake is suspended on it. At the base Darth Vader is fighting with Luke Skywalker with isomalt sables.

I made this to Cake International, Birmingham 2011. Won gold in International Class. It represents the portuguese epopee "The Lusiads" by Luis de Camões wich talks about the portuguese voyages of discovery during the 15th and 16th centuries.
